No it's there. I didn't clean the partial film off yet

I used the Arjay product to do my transom, if the bedding compound is as good, then it's some bad azz stuff. I'm thinking he better get it right the first time!!! There is no going back. :)

oh, makes sense.

Do you think the film material is necessary or do you use it just for insurance? I have just relied on 5-6 coats of mold release wax and I have had good luck with just that so far. I would like to try PVA and see if it helps the release on more complex parts but didn't think I would be necessary on a flat part like the deck.

Takeapartable as well. Not kind, but doable.

How would you get your old fuel fill hose out if you were in my shoes?
In foam. Deck down.
Nice work.

GFS,
I'll share a passing thought. Going with a brute force method, what about inserting a round wood plug into the hose as close as possible to where it begins to be imbedded in the foam; then use a long pipe wrench clamped down on the hose over the block to twist, hoping the torque/twisting would break the bond between the hose and foam?

Good luck

I am not gonna lie. There are gonna be 3 or 4 recruits to bed the deck as the working time is short and there is only one shot.

I won't lay a mold up with out it, there is nothing worse than the fiberglass bonding to your mold. PVA is an awesome product that insures it will pop off most of the time..... The problem with the wax is it absorbs into different material like that mdf. I still do two coats of wax than spray the PVA .

Plus it's easy to spray through an hvlp gun

First class as always. That's gonna be a real nice boat when it's finished :)

well the boat progressed slowed to a crawl with the fishing season in wide open bite going on and work been busy.

I have been chipping away at stuff and getting parts ordered that I needed.

here are some pics of a trip we did with a bunch of shimano reel engineers and reps. a friend who is sponsored boat was not ready yet with a new electronics package so I took them with him. Basspond snap some shots and sent them to me.

alright back to some work .

I laminated the coring for the bulkhead and stern boxes. one side has a layer of mat and a layer of 1708 the other side has 2 layers of mat. its amazing how stiff they are once you laminate both sides, I was concearned that they were going to be that strong. I was wrong.
