Mold with recesssed areas for future access hatches. It is waxed and ready for lay up. The radius's were made using modeling compounds from the local craft's store. Re: Here We Go Again
I noticed in the shots where you had it on the boat that the stern edge mold board was against the transom.....so you did allow for that in the spacing to the front of the cap so you can slide it back the thickness of the glass???

Re: Here We Go Again
Good to see that motor getting used! Remember the paper fuel pump guts rot out on that motor. Easy, cheap change-out.

Re: Here We Go Again
Not trying to hijack the thread but, speaking of 1996 Yamaha 225 2-cycles, is it a good motor or is there something to watch out for, besides the fuel filters?

Thanks! What should I check when looking to buy one; compression, starter, lower unit? Last question, I promise!

Re: Here We Go Again
Not sure of the years but, some shift shafts were not stainless (or higher grade) and eroded. Most of my experience has been with the OX66 EFI, I believe yours is carbed??

Re: Here We Go Again
Botapeje,
As reelescape1 mentioned, the shift shaft is something check. Also, definitely do a compression test plus a leakdown test if possible. reelescape1, My father's Yam is carbed. |
