1981 23cc SF w/ twin 225 merc's, just got it up to PA a few weeks ago from FL (Sarasota area) and have yet to splash it. Checked everything out, it's a solid as a rock. It'll spend the bulk of its time in fresh water on Lake Erie Astabula, OH but I hope to make a couple trips a year out to NJ and the CBBT.

What kind of performance numbers do you get out of the twin 150 4 strokes?

Also, I sure thatwe would all love to see some pictures of your new sled.

Do you have the twins on a bracket and what kind of prop & trim tab setup do you have?

It is pretty impressive for me. I did not think it would do what it does. We have Factory Yamha SS prop(counter rotating of course), pitch i forget. Trimtabs under an armstrong bracket. I have seen the speedometer read 45 mph. That deosnt happen very often, not full of fuel and only me. It will hold 140 gallons of gogo juice. Been offshore all day to the gulf out of Georgtown SC and only burnt 74 gallons.I will look and get some better numbers for you, i forget off the top of my head but it is saved in the guages. It is impressive, i think.

What kind of numbers are you getting with that engine on the boat? Im just curious I have a 1984 sceptre with a hard top and side and rear curtains with a 1999 200 mercury optimax, I will take some pictures and send them to you. I also have an enclosed transom with an armstrong bracket.

I'm new to the list. I inherited a 1974 SeCraft Safari for my wife's uncle because i was the only one that ever took an interest in the boat. He purchased it new in Miami and it has been in the Floride Keys since new. The original Evinrude Motor was removed and replaced with a Nissan 140+ in 2000. The boat is completely original. Never painted and only has minor damage on the port side just forward of the transom. Hull has some blisters and I don't know whether or not I should grind them out. Boat does need a good buffing out and other TLC. I've always felt an attachment to the boat. Hull is red and cuddy cabin is white will post pictures later. :)

The Optis are gone. I replaced them with a pair of DF175 Suzuki's in March 2009.

New transom 2 years ago (25" foam core), needs decks.
My boss just bought the boat, we took it out once, and its a blast. We're going to patch the decks for now, and hopefully this winter get it re-decked.
