I have done the same thing with the Regulator taking laps around the cove. Pleasant bay is more fun then you can terrorize all the blow boaters...She looks great.

Heynow hows the inboard coming they are great platforms wish I had more time for my old one.

P-bay crossed my mind too, but the wind was HOWLING and I know help isnt too far away (nauset marine) if it decided to quit running in town cove. I still want to do a couple hot laps around CC bay after I get it proped right with the extension, couple more hours of running would do it good.

Well, I have been digging back into this thing. After trying to get the ol' evinrude running right, shifting right, and behaving, I have given up. I Stuffed the boat in the shop on Thurs while the motor was sitting on CL waiting for a buyer... well of course it sold on Sat.

I am bound and determined to get this thing in the water before JUNE! So the pace is going to go quick the next couple weeks, and the pictures may not be as plentiful as they were before.

So far, I have scuffed down all the nonskid on the cap, sanded the inner hull to about 80% and chopped out all the rotten core around the old rod holders, cleats, lights etc. My plan is to back up all new 'jewelery' with some little Penske scraps so this will never happen again. Overall I thought the rot was going to be worse than it was. I was VERY surprised that the core was in decent shape.

End of the night, pretty satisfied how much BS grinding and sanding work I got done in 2 evenings. This should be the majority of the grinding until I start doing the body work. I am hoping to have the gellcoat shot in the next couple weeks, then roll the nonskid on and rig the motor after that.

Yes it really was that dusty in there, the dam chain flipped off the door opener, only one big door would open.

Wasnt itchy too bad, mostly Gellcoat dust.

At this point, I am about three quarters the way thru the rough work on the cap. Most of the cores have been goop'd up and sanded flat, and most of them have a couple layers of glass over them.

Here is an in progress shot. The front ones have 2 layers over them the right one is just goop'd in there and the left one hasnt been yet. I threw a layer down under them to seal the underside, and take out some of the high and lows, so they fit flatter. I am thinking about giving the bow a little more curve with some extra glass over the core, because I am mounting a vert swivel rod holder up there to fight fish.
