One other thing....

I just bought a 6,000lb Magic Tilt aluminum roller trailer (stainless package, 52 poly rollers, galvy hubs, rims & leaf springs) that should be arriving any day (yeah, right). If you do decide that you want to buy a new trailer....you are welcome to look at it.

www.loadmastertrailers.com these seem to be really good quality at an affordable price. My buddy has three of them. I am in the same boat and looks like I am going to go this route.

Both Billybob and I have one. Ours were called Towmaster. It is the same company. These are great trailers, could hold and move a house. I picked mine up at their Ohio plant and drove half way accross the country with my SC on it. Can't beat the price. The bunks are enormous.

I got a quote of $2,120 delivered to MA for no brakes, $2,550 delivered with brakes. Seems like the best deal I have been able to find.

I talked to Gary at Nextrail and we both decided that I should be OK without the brakes. I am pulling with a Suburban, he thought that would be fine without them. I also have been pulling around a galvy with no brakes - so I guess I will go without for now. Can always add them....just don't have the $$$ - I didn't expect to by buying a new trailer this summer! hopefully, tuna season will be good this year!

Eric, Check with your local law enforcement or state police.. Here in New Jersey and others states trailers over a certain GVW must have brakes by law..even boat traliers

Thanks Don - I have a call into my insurance co. to see if they can advise me on the laws in MA for brake / weight. The guys at Nextrail said brakes were mandatory if the overall weight of the trailer and boat was 3500lbs. I'm probably just a tad over that depending on the trailer weight.
