Re: T-top or not to T-top...
Otto,
Call Don and let him do this for you: http://userpages.umbc.edu/~bmille4/misc/20gradycc4.JPG Imagine how good it will look when complete!!! I looked at the Atlantic Towers tops a few years ago. IMHO, you are correct, they are poorly designed and built. That has been the opinion of several owners I have talked to that have also experienced problems. |

Re: T-top or not to T-top...
Otto,
You might consider trying it for a season without the T-top if that is feasible. Personally, I prefer to be out in the open, maybe because I spend my days driving a desk. |
Re: T-top or not to T-top...
Otto,
Check out this T-top that Cman posted in the For Sale section. It has the "Key West cutout", which is nice because it cuts down on the overall size of the top but still gives you coverage over the helm. http://www.classicseacraft.com/cgi-b...c;f=4;t=000458 |
Re: T-top or not to T-top...
Otto,
Not sure how soon you would be in the market for a top, but if you have a while yet, you might be able to try it both ways. I know of at least one SC23 with a top that would be in range of the Dania Beach flea market. You could go for a ride on a boat with a top and see if you felt it to be too confining. If so, leave it off of yours...? |
Re: T-top or not to T-top...
I second Marks comment .... A real good reason to get cover on a boat that you can not normally get out of the sun.... Both of the guys I worked for had cancer removed from the head/scalp....despite hats and sunscreen …. not to mention the towers on the boats with the protection and cover…..Not good !!!!
