Nothing beats those old Jensen JM-1600'S
in black!! Scott do you know any for sale?
HEHE When you put that wrap around on
that beautiful tee-top, it sounds like you
added a 10" powered subwoofer under the console!

I've gone thru Jenses and Poly's. About 2 years ago installed Clarions and they seem to be cooperating.Plus they sound great.

Heres My 2 bits Had jensen, lasted one year. I added pioneers (auto)& memphis (marine) We'll see which last. As far as the stereo I put alpine, but just use a car one,Unless You want White. The Salty / Vibration will kill all of these. My amp is a 600A. rockwell/Fosgate , Same as above I don't expect it to live long. Maybe the water has More salt in it down Here ???? I definatly know the SUN is Killing most everything especially the speakers !
2 speakers in console side (low) 2 speakers up front in the box pointed back (Sealed from the back)The problem is; My Wife likes the Music & I like the sound of spray & Pounding. She Won !

I agree with Reel Smoker
I've been thru the Poly's and Jensens. I bought the Clarion 4 channel unit @ 45 watts per channel plus coupled with a 4 channel 100 watt amp (that's 25 watts per channel ) total 70 watts per channel. Bose speakers were very pricey so I went with the Infinity Marine 100 watt speakers. Two up forward and two midships. The
I detailed this for your information because what ever system you choose it is important that if you add an amp that the total output wattage can be covered by the max rms output of the speakers. The small 45-60 watt speakers can't handle the wattage of an amp. Also should you go with an amp., be careful to choose a two or 4 channel to match the number of speakers you install in the boat. Re: Speakers

thanks for the reply chuck. my friend gave me a jensen marine head unit and i've got a alpine 60watt 2 channel amp in the basement, so i think I might spend the extra money on some good speakers. i need to find out it my head unit can handle two amps or if i need to pick up a passive cross-over. 4 speakers would be nice, but i think i'll start with 2.
