Re: ebay

I just closed the deal on that boat in SC. I am a little nervous about not seeing it. If someone is local down there to check it out for me I'd be glad to through'em a few buck.

Cool - remember, tell the guy he owes me a commission

Like I said, that boat needs some work but has a LOT to offer, Recent transom, bracket, twins, decent looking top and a new trailer for short money. And much nicer than the one on Ebay now...

Re: ebay

John, thanks I owe you one. I'll even up with you on some fishing trips
I was starting to get cold feet. The timing is a little off. But what the hell, without seeing it it looks like a quality deal and saves me the expence of doing what he's already done. My phone already ringing for charters for spring, so I can defer some of the expence
The ultimate goal for the boat is offer a big game fly/light tackle
service
Though, I still could bale if the thing a nightmare when I get up there.

Re: ebay

On second thought I've just found out it's gonna be 5k for each motor rebuild, and for that price the boat doesn't seem like great deal anymore and the boat it's self need considerable work. I've seen those boats in class A condition with new or newer power for under 20k. I still may consider it if the guy take 4k, but I doubt it.

Re: ebay

Sorry to hear that. You mean it needs BOTH motors rebuilt? What happened to a Stator in one? From what the guy told me the motor that needs to be rebuilt runs and could be heard and that the one with the stator needs just that and that the compression was good...

5K to rebuild? Ouch

Re: ebay

You usually do both engines together. The compression in the other was on it's way down as well. And the stator apparently melted (sound scary)
If the boat was in better condition I would consider it, but if you tally up the raster it's not cost effective.....back to the drawing board.
