I fished Friday and today. We had 4 bluefins Friday 30 lbs and 3 today. We are fishing a bit further out to the Chicken Canyon and the Glory Hole. The Huson should be turning on in a couple of weeks so we'll be doing some tuna fishing out there. We have been doing pretty good with the mako's up here. How about you guys? I did see about the get-together, so I hope to make that as well.

take care,

Joe

Beautiful boat! Welcome to the site. Hey, Joe R! How come you limit yourself to only 20 miles offshore? I've taken my 20' Seafari from Lake Worth Inlet to Grand Bahama (55 miles one way), and on the other coast I consider the Florida Middle Grounds reef reachable with some spare fuel (88 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico)
'Course, not being totally stupid, I always travel with at least one other boat. SeaTow won't come out that far.

Fr.Frank I guess I am getting to old ,Putting all else aside. I usualy dont have a full day off from work ,I love to troll for bonito ,dolphin, and whatever else is on the so. Jersey inshore grounds. So you see time is just one reason ,the other is my 20 cc only holds 40 gals, I also have another 10 gal tank with a valve hook up to the 40 so this gives me 50gal at the most. I was out the other day 16 mi off trolling for about3 hrs, when I got a call that the blue fins were another 5 off from me. well another 5 miles and trolling , then 20 mi to get home and had to be at work by noon ,did not add up. I just feel confortable inside of 25 mi or so...I have lived and fished on the ocean most of my 51 years . worked on charter boats etc. but its just a confort thing......boat 20 1970 SeaCraft cc she is fully rigged t-top 2 -vhfs ,loran , gps , eberb , etc I have had this boat for 19 years now...OK may be I will hook up another sm tank to get at those bluefins that have been 20 to 30 offshore Joe R.

Joe, nice boat I was wondering what was done with the back door to the consule, I have the oringinal teak and have been replacing with starboard (under gunwale, forward and aft rod holders). Are you close to A.C, I spent many a day there fishing when I was young, My Grandmother lived there and I had a blast every time I was on the water up there.

I'm not sure which door you mean?

I was wondering about the rear door (hatch) to the engine compment, it look's like yours is staboard without louver's, mine is still oringinal teak with louver's. Thinking about updating in the near future.

Re: new to the site

it is starboard with 2 holes in it for air flow. It is put on with 2 hinges. Never have any problems with it.

Craig, I pulled up the back deck to ease putting the new engine in last night and could see a couple hair line cracks in the muffler, where the front pipes go in. Plan to west system it in tonight. I never smelt any fumes and that could of happened between putting new manifolds in 2 years ago and taking them apart recently. I never smelt any fumes, can you hear any leaks in the manifold?
Gary
