My number ends in 78, but it's titled a '79. I assume the year in the title is when the boat was completed. The hull # is when it was molded [I think].

Anything built after July is titled as the next model year.

Great original boat! Congratulations. My only advise would be to absolutely be sure you like the way ALL of the through hull fittings are installed. Mine hade 2 slow leaks through 2 fittings that would have surely sunk the boat had she been left in a slip for a few days.

thru hull fitting
 
Great advice. I have done a cursory inspection but will inspect each in detail. It's funny, my last two boats have been new, but on each I found a thru-hull or two that either wasn't double clamped or wasn't as secure as it should have been.
