Re: Mass. 1973- 23' Seacraft C/C for sale
Sent the pics to the other Robin Egg owner to post. The hull looks like a 1972 or early 73. Notice the hull cap is joined in the splash well area. It also has slightly smaller stern lockers.

Hey Rodney ...good eyes on that seam in the splash well ... Saw that same thing on another early 70's boat and wondered if that was original ...guess it was the way they made them ...Color seems to be a bit on the green side too

Thanks, boys. The owner is sending me a better picture that I will have to get scanned. As soon as it is available I will post it here.

Re: Mass. 1973- 23' Seacraft C/C for sale
I would say it's a 1972. The only year that has the seem in the splashwell I think. Also the only year that has the Donkey console . Paul Furnari and I both have 72's with the seem.

Rich,
Nice console. What is that wood material? |
Re: Mass. 1973- 23' Seacraft C/C for sale
That would be Australian beachnut poplar...

Re: Mass. 1973- 23' Seacraft C/C for sale
The seam in the splash well is a dead give away it's a '72.
I've been in woodworking for 30 years and never heard of that wood before. Chances are it's 3/4 Birch veneer core ply. -PF |
Re: Mass. 1973- 23' Seacraft C/C for sale
It's just plain old 1/4 " ply that I used to change the shape of the original console. I thought Otto was making fun of the Donkey...
