jim, the man i bought the boat from said he moored it on the bass river for many years(probably why the transom is soggy). he's 85 and joked that people were waiting for him to die so they could get his mooring. as far as the transom, i've noticed that some are done from the outside and some are done from the inside. i like the idea of leaving the outer hull together. thanks for the pictures. looks kinda scarey but i'm not afraid. i have another boat so i won't try to rush it. tom.
