That Thong/Chaps/Jacket thread has some serious leggs-no pun . I agree with the 8-15K. That 6K price sounds like it is 3K below market considering that no value is given to the motor(s). Anyone remember the Ebay Auction of the 23SF from Hurricane Jeanne/Francis -Red Dive Boat with the V-8 Rude on a bracket that had the console ripped off and scuffed up sold for over 10K? 6K is a descent initial buy-in.

Want2fish
I bought my 85 23' on the cape 20 months ago for 5K. I redid the decks, replaced the wiring, tank, all hardware, added new electronics and painted the inside myself. I also added a 250 EFI Yami and am very pleased with my investment, which now totals $20K. If you can get a 81 hull with solid decks and a transom that you can get a few years out of before updating for 6K, I would run not walk to get it. Good Luck Dink

What happened to finsters 23cc boat that was for sale? You might look into that if he still has it.

Want2fish - finding a 23 CC in Mas/RI/CT for 6K that needs only a fair amount of work is next to impossible and gone in a hearbeat. I got mine for 12 from Florida. You might find a Scepter for 6K if you are lucky. Dink got a find and had to put a lot of work and $$ into it. I know of one 23 that went for 14K in NB 2 years ago when I was looking and the guy spent another 27K between transom, 4 stroke, top, electronics... Stupid money for them up here. B ut seeing that it's the smallest boat you will often find 30+ out of Chatham chasing big BFT or that a whole lot of the comm bass guys use them, it says something...

Good luck but if you have a line on one at 6K, run, don't walk...

It was sold to a member of the site, yet I think Finster still has it in his yard

The owner seems like a real honest older gentleman I don't think he would pull a stunt and sell it from under me, but he has said there has been a few guys interested, maybe call tomorrow and firm things up more
