Thirty Years + of Oceanmasters. The Co-owner of Brown & Hauptner Marine, Frank Brown raced with Carl Mosley in this Miami to Nassau race. Frank Brown's Partner Mark Hauptner designed the Oceanmaster Boats.

Notice any similarities b/w seacraft stringers and Oceanmaster stringers

Hmmm, but I notice that they raced in a Seacraft. Nice clipping.

Big.. I do believe that the Hauptner designed boat is not the same Ocean Master we see today. The stringer lay up on the Ocean Master is typical stringer design of most boats, that layup is not only a Sea Craft idea. The first Ocean Master I worked on was an 1988 31 with twin 300 Rudes on it. The smooth bottom with out lifting rails or strakes made it run fast but ride hard. They had a bad habit of "skating" because the boat wouldn't track in cross sea's

What about a Whitewater 28?

Re: Ocean Master Boats?

All good suggestions, but unfortunatly I am not rich. The boat would have to be used and not a center consol. This is the boat I will be replacing.

And I need somthing that would fit two kids and a wife, BUT, it needs to fit under a bridge if I want to keep it at my house. You know, the wife wants a toilet, place to sleep, place to cook yada yada. The Whitewater is fine for me but the cabin is like a cave. I realize having to go under the bridge limits me but I'm sure I can find something. Keep the suggestions coming. Beside I'll always have my 20SF. Thanks again guys.

Blackfin 27 combi and the 25 or 28 carolina classic are two boats I would look at in the used market. Are you only looking outboard?

Re: Ocean Master Boats?

There seems to be some good buys on the Blackfin 25 Fisherman. It's very simular to a SC Savage, with the foward berth and center console. It's a tank of a boat with a 24 degree deadrise. Though the one's with towers have a tendancy to pitch due to weight with the 8' beam and deep-V.

This is a good forum if you like Blackfin's. I've always thought they were good boats, and they do have a cult following simular to the SC's.
