Thanks and I guess I will have to actually buy a digital camera or at least borrow one so I can get some pictures up. It was 50 and sunny on Cape today and I was itching to get started.

Believe it or not I don't have a digital camera! I'm the only one I know without one. I will have to buy or borrow one soon to post pictures.

Swamp Yankee, not so sure what it means either! I think I avoided the coon azz though! few! It's a reference to Yankee pioneers, mostly poor americans that settled less desireable swamplands etc in New England area, a hardy group as the history books I've read suggest and made a way for themselves. Corny huh! Anyways I always liked it and might name this boat Swamp Yankee.

Would that be an AMF Sunfish, those are classics around here and I picked one up this summer at a tag sale.

Thanks Scott, I already seem to know a lot of guys on Cape with Seacrafts! My wifes uncle has a 23 SF IO, a 1973 I think that he Tuna fishes and runs charters with. I also know 3 others so far with older seacrafts. It's like a car once you have a certain make they seem to be everywhere!

Welcome to the site SwampYankee. I'm surprised - being from New England and owning anything that has a reference to Yankee. Can you put some pinstripes on it to? Pitchers and catchers report tomorrow! :D

Thanks, and anything with pinstripes gets run off Cape Cod without a Seacraft! I hope Spring training brings warm weather, cause that Seacraft I bought is ready for a test. I already waxed the hull!

Swamp

Yep …. Had three of them at one point!!!. My family owned a Marine Hardware store in the early 70’s. As part of that they were an AMF Alcort dealership. So as a kid I had access to all that stuff. The one we currently have is bristol and has been garage keep for most of its life. Somewhere I have all the old sales manuals, and brochures along with parts and sails. We even had a Sailfish. I often think it would have been a cool business to have , but like retail "Mom and Pop” stores that have been consumed by corporate monsters, I think the hardware store would have been too….

Too funny! The sunfish I have is an Alcort also, and I grew up with a White with Green deck sailfish. I wish I still had that, it was in great shape. The sunfish I have is in ok shape. I picked it up cheap and it cleaned up nice on top. I want the kids to learn to sail etc.
