I WANTED TO DO A COLORED TO BE DIFERENT AND DISTINCT NOT LOOK THE SAME AS EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE WATER.......... NOW I THINK IM DOING POLAR WHITE OR A SIMILAR COLOR THERE SEEMS TO BE LESS AND LESS WHITE HULL BOATS. I THINK SCRATCHES TO THE HULL WILL BE EASIER TO HIDE AS WELL.
JUST ANOTHER UNDECIDED REBUILDER

I still love the fighting lady yellow with a white bottom. My 1st Seacraft was like that. A '73 23' SF w/ twin 115 Mercurys.

Fr. Frank - what sort of performance do you get out of your Seafari with the 150 Merc ?

blue hull = bad luck ?? - hadn't heard that one before - seen plenty of blue hulled boats, but damn sure don't need to invite any bad luck - gotta think about that one a bit.

Hey Bill,
From what I know it kind of follows Carla's story. Blue ships are hard to see since the ocean and sky (most of the time) is blue. I have also seen that long ago blue paint was expensive and may have fed the lore at some point. Of coarse many boats are blue these days. I love reading all of this stuff and there is a lot of it out there. If you go for the blue hull just dont whistle on the way to the fishing grounds while eating a bannana after leaving on a Friday in a boat named Porky the Pig. :cool:

The US Navy paints their hulls "Haze Grey" as to make them invisable on the horizon. I remember Mr. Potter telling me that SeaCraft purposely chose 4 distinct colors for their hulls so they would be Highly Visable out on the water. "Yellow, Dark Blue, Red and robins egg blue."
