Re: My 20 SeaCraft after 6 months work
jwclbi, the chine-walking is fixable several ways, but the simplest way is to attach two 2"x6"x .5" honeycomb-brass grounding plates on either side of the keel line about 18" forward of the transom and about 9-12" apart. You'll lose only about 2 mph, but the boat becomes a LOT more stable.
I did this back in '84 to a 20' MA that had a 2.4L 240 hp Merc on the back. It dropped from a top speed of 73 to a top of 70-71, but rode rock-steady in a light wind-chop. I did the same thing that year to an early Checkmate 18' that was old-style, ie; no pad, just V hull all the way back, and it steadied it out, too. Besides, they're great for your electronics in case of a near lightning strike :D |

I'm no better than any of the other fellas that I read post about on CSC, some with more experiance than others but in general the guys that give advice,at least in my opinion, I think would try to do their best with their ability at hand on any repair job. Thanks for the compliments but truth be told after 5 diffrent profeshional feilds of work,(And I still cant spell) I finaly found something I make good money at and I like to do. Jose
