Re: SeaFari Mods
Thanks for the nice comment bushwacker!! I do like the seafari better than the v20 and I've seen the damage that you describe on a few older (early 70's) v20's. My V20 took some serious abuse and held together well. The large cockpit was awesome for fishing. Anyhoo . . . I suspect Carl Mosley might also have some experience with the v20 vs. seacraft comparison too.
This was a pic of a v20 and a 20ft powercat headed for battle during the bay of pigs invasion. I suspect they were the "two other boats from competing manufacturers" http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/...f_pigs_001.jpg http://www.classicseacraft.com/broch...edium/0009.jpg |
Re: SeaFari Mods
Neat photo! Brown & Hauptner Marine (local SeaCraft dealer) once had a 21 in their shop with some strange steel reinforcement under front deck. Turns out it was the mount for a .50 cal machine gun! They suspected boat may have been used in same adventure as your picture described!
Meant to tell you, I had similar need for quick access to back of instrument panel. Instead of a hatch, my solution was to put a piece of piano hinge along bottom to allow entire cover to fold down; it's held by some clamps on side. Will send photo when I get a chance. |
