That`s pretty impressive.
Are there any used ,er pre-owned powertechs around? If not ,think I`ll try a mirage plus. Thanks again, GFS p.s. How does diameter affect dynamics ? |

There was one on ebay a couple of days ago. Yamaha, which is the same spline system as Merc. You'd have to rehub, which is about $60.

Were you running the Cleaver surfacing or submerged? I've read that cleavers should be run about half out of the water, otherwise the thick trailing edge makes them very inefficient. But running them high screws the acceleration because they can't bite as well. So, is that why you got higher RPMs, higher top end, but poor acceleration? I've got a 21 Cleaver laying around. After reading your post, I thought I might try it on my 20SF/200Merc just to see what it does. Thanks, Dave |
Re: Help Bigshrimpin! 14 3/4 x 17 viper prop
Hey Father,
Found a mirage + on weeway. 15 1/2 x 17 no nicks or divots. Merc`s prop selector recommends 15.38 x 18 or 15.38 x 17 for more top end. I`m looking to gain 4-500 rpm. Please see me in the confessional. |
