What speed does the powertech give you @ 5600?

I get about 47 mph at 5600.

That`s pretty impressive.

Are there any used ,er pre-owned powertechs around? If not ,think I`ll try a mirage plus.

Thanks again,
GFS
p.s.
How does diameter affect dynamics ?

There was one on ebay a couple of days ago. Yamaha, which is the same spline system as Merc. You'd have to rehub, which is about $60.

17P Powertech

Only if you come out here!. I was born in WPB, but haven't lived there in 20 years.

The 19P 4 blade Cleaver II gave me a top end of 55 mph at 6100 rpms, but planed in a very long 8-10 seconds.

Fr. Frank,
Were you running the Cleaver surfacing or submerged? I've read that cleavers should be run about half out of the water, otherwise the thick trailing edge makes them very inefficient. But running them high screws the acceleration because they can't bite as well. So, is that why you got higher RPMs, higher top end, but poor acceleration?

I've got a 21 Cleaver laying around. After reading your post, I thought I might try it on my 20SF/200Merc just to see what it does.
Thanks,
Dave

Hey Father,
Found a mirage + on weeway. 15 1/2 x 17 no nicks or divots. Merc`s prop selector recommends 15.38 x 18 or 15.38 x 17 for more top end. I`m looking to gain 4-500 rpm. Please see me in the confessional.

Surfacing. Had the motor on the highest mounting hole, trimmed out. Threw a 30' high rooster tail. But you began to wonder if it was ever going to get on plane. :D

Surfacing.

Yep. That's what I figured. I'd probably need a Bob's Nosecone and a jack plate to get any benefit out of a cleaver.

I had a nosecone, but no jackplate.
