Coal tar epoxy is the only way to go.The guys at classic mako swear by it.Some guys use a primer first like awlgrip 545 and then the coal tar.

Where do you get it? How do you apply? Is it better than epoxy coating a fuel tank? As I understand it can be applied to aluminum.

Rhino Liner the stuff they use on truck beds works great.

I would use either coal tar epoxy or zinc chromate on the tanks.
