Can't beat the price of the motor but that motor is gonna beat you up at the gas pump. Is the shaft length correct for your transom? Do you need a harness and controls?

Great price! Good compression is subjective.I`d like real numbers. Is it close to you? Let me know if you pass on it I may buy it for future parts. They are thirsty.

The engine is in Bath, NC on eBay. I posted my question becuase it got me thinking as I near completing my 20, repowering is an option I'm looking at. For the ocasional offshore runs and putting around the lakes, rivers & bays, what would be a good engine to look at without digging too deep into the pocket - keeping in mind the present gas prices and limited use. I have a '96 Evinrude 150 OceanPro now.
