if you can determine the stringer layout that would help. My 69 and I think some 70's had 4 thin stringers where as later years had 2 huge stringers.

I used to have a '70 CC. 2 teak hatches forward, raised forward deck, no vents, no rail, same emblem on the coaming, scuppers down through the deck/hull, 4 stringers, no rear live-well/fish box, transom cutout for twin OBs, and about a 45 gallon fuel tank below the deck.

That oughta confuse the issue.

Welllll if i thought i was confused before...now i'm really confused as to what model year i have, but i have some givens that might point me in the right direction.
I will take Trayder's advice and check the stringer layout.
Also i think i can narrow it down to the 69-70's range if those model years had their rod storage more towards midships than others. My confusion might also be options that were added to it that might make deciphering the correct model year a bit harder. But thanks for all your help......i'll be posting regularly to show you all what im doing!!

sorry but i have to confuse you some more. my 73 has 2 big stringers and the livewell too. :D

When you say "big" stringers, what exactly do you mean? The reason i ask is if you notice the last picture i posted showing the interior of the transom you will notice that the deck basically sits on two massive "stringers" that go all the way fwd. I thought this might have been the previous owners redo attempt. I will have to investigate a bit more though.

Ima believing it is circa 1970, I have the exact same boat, my fuel tank is mounted above deck, under the console, I have the same hatchs in the bow, same rod lockers, same everything, the aft portion was the engine well, which your guy cut out, I have before and after pictures of mine if you wish to look, let me know. After I'm done with my refit I was going to post the whole job.

Mine had foam floated back there between the stringer and the outboard hullside.

Was looking through past post on THT and found a Seacraft post....one of the pictures was of a 1969 I/O 20 with the engine box visible.......it seems to be located pretty close to where the cutout on my boat is.........so i'm pretty positive mine was an I/O in one time of it's life. Buying a classic boat that you have always admired is like being a kid in a candy store......so excuse me if i seem a bit overexcited........but then again thats what this forum is all about!!!
