I agree with Denny. The ventilation is important even on the hot day in Canada... :D...JK we get a few.
The top of the Seafari 25 windshield is about 6' off the floor so unless you're Shak, You need the ventilating windshield.

Good luck with the project Blue Heron. I'd be happy to take any measurements or help out if I can. Judging by the floor around the engine hatch, yours may have been set up with twins originally.

Brandon

BTW good idea going with original helm. You wan't to have as much weight forward as possible

Thanks, Brandon for your input and your kind offer. I agree about the windshield. And you're right, she did originally have twins. The single 270 HP was put in mid '90s.

I'm going to move the conversation over to the Repairs/Mods forum to kick around some ideas. I'm sure I'll have questions for you and the other Seafari 25 owners as I move through the work. I'll try to keep progress pics posted, too

Frank there is one of those 27 flybridge's on craigslist in palm beach for what seems to be pretty inexpensive to me. I had never seen one before the add on craigslist. Looks like a pretty nice boat!

Re: 25 Seafari

I picked up this 68 SeaMaster from the guy that bought it back in 2006 or 07. I have only had her a few weeks now and I have been repainting and updating the cabin. I don't think any maintenance was done to her for a couple of years. Last week I was able to get the engine started and it ran great. This week I'll be working on the electrical and the outdrive. This is a heavy boat but we pulled it with a Dodge RAM 2500 with no problems. I'll post some pictures later on. Can't wait to take her out on the water. :)

Here are a few pictures. The first is a before picture from a couple of years ago. One of the pictures shows some of the work I am doing to the cabin. Today I started the engine compartment rewire and paint. I'll post some of the finish compartment when I am done. I might start a new thread for that.

thanks,
Mike
