i think they are the same ones that are used on your starter motor. no i dont think you can use the ones from a ford truck. might want to get the marine ones for this application. just my opinion.

most soleniods work in the same manner, high amp circuit activated by a low amp switch. i refuse to use automotive components in the marine environment due to the reduced lifespan and the risk of failure such as fire. Always use marine grade electrical components

Use the Merc ones, I got one from NAPA a Sierra and a year later had another failure = same one. Got a Merc one this time - I used the one for a Mercruiser and used my old rubber grommits on the bracket $27 - with the rubber grommits $54

ok when i get paid this week i will be going to the store to buy one . was just wondering if the ford one would work.
