Re: Installation of Lower Unit?
My boat's on the trailer and not marina. My '96 Johnnyrude has had antiseize on the bolts since new with no problems. It may depend on the type.

Re: Installation of Lower Unit?
On the trailer is usually okay. Most of the bad problems we saw were on boats using anti-seize and kept in the water year-round.

Re: Installation of Lower Unit? - Torque ft/lbs??
Anybody know how many foot / lbs of torque needed when tighten the lower unit bolts when reassembling the unit.
I have a torque wrench, just need to know how tight to crank them down. God forbid over torqueing them and stripping them! |

Re: Installation of Lower Unit - DONE !!
Ok, mission complete. Thanks to everyone's help and the lower unit's mfg (SEI) online tutorial --- Installation was a breeze!! It took about 2 hours and went extremely well. Installed the unit on Sat. & tested it at the lake Sun. All ran perfectly.
On to the next project - Carb(s) redo. (see current post) |
