Re: What's everyone got for winter projects?

Winter in S. Fla. means it finally cools off enough for comfortable boat work, but was about 85 today so I'm still waiting! I'm planning a 400-500 mile run around the state next spring, so have finally decided to remove the 37 year old bottom paint that's 0-3 layers thick to get the bottom a little slicker! Question: Has anyone tried Supermarine Revolution SM-1000 paint? Non-urethane, not too expensive, guaranteed for 10 years below waterline, supposed to be super tough, can apply with roller, flows out real smooth. Sound's too good to be true but perfect for a trailer boat if it is! Have ordered a quart; Carla and I are gonna split it and run some tests on it to see how easy it is to use and how tough it really is!

Other project is to redo instrument panel to put a bulkhead mount compass in front of helm and make IP more vertical so I can read the damn digital gages while sitting down! I lowered seat pedestal to move top of windshield above line of sight when seated. That worked great but now I have to stand up to read the compass or gages! :o Objective is to improve comfort/ergonomics for long runs. Denny

I'd like to subversively fill Bigshrimpin up with some fine California ales and somehow get one of those Manly-cured Mercs out of him on the cheap :D :D :D

Last year there was a lot of work under the shrinkwrap for me. Another year like that and I might be in divorce court. I hope to sneak out and take care of a few "little" projects. Steering needs to be addressed - thinking about Hyd system, and the scuppers are in bad shape. I'm sure there will be others but the Honey-Do list will need some attention.
