Uncleboo, you may not have foam problems, my 78 had a molded chase(glassed into the bottom of the deck) that was a breeze to pull hoses thru. only problem was the tank connection access. I ended up putting a 8" round inspection plate to access the tank fittings in the future.

Interesting, I don't have any foam in the areas your referring to. I think there is just a thin layer on the bottom and sides of my fishbox.

I am having the same problem..Changing fill hose....fill hose will not budge. What did you finally do?

Re: HIN Identification Assistance (1987 18 SF)
I started with 1 6in. hole for a 6 in. inspection hatch. I now have 4 more. Cutting the foam away from the old hose. Holes followed the assumed route of the fill hose. I missed a bit on a few. Everything in the fishbox will be glassed back in and the higher ones will have the inspection hatch for future access to the fill and vent line hose clamps. My saving grace is my forward deck is glassed in so there is a bigger casting platform so if it looks like crap for a while no one will see it.
Work and time also made it so I had to take it to a local guy I really trust so he is finishing it up. I hope to be on the water this weekend. |
