Actually, Bobby Soles can re-pitch SS by about an inch, but no more than that. He did a Rapture for a friend of mine, re-pitching from 17' to 18". You do, however, lose the original rake progression, which can lead to either slighter greater tendency to cavitate on acceleration, or slightly greater tendency to ventilate in turns or when the prop is near the surface.
