If you're talking about a deck with a console bonded to the top skin of a sandwich laminate, I agree peel loads would be imposed by lateral forces on the console. As you said, peel forces would not be changed by panel thickness and polystyrene foam should not be used to core a panel subjected to peel loads. It's much better for thermal insulation and I wouldn't think it was an appropriate core unless that was your primary goal. Dave |
