Re: Tsunami Engines/Drives Questions????

Frank..yes it is..it was up around 4500 or so about 3 months ago...Its going to be there for a while..I think!!! My neighbor is aware of the boat as well...he knew the former owner...and told me the boat has not been in the water for quite a while (years he said)

yes... cheaper to buy two engines...guess those AQ 69-70s are old school with lots of issues (after doing more research)..I was thinking of going with new power but I would have to get the boat and trailer at a discounted price to be able to afford them..I was also thinking of going with a bracket and purchase a used outboard..around 225 or 250..but again money is the main issue...always is..then bouncing the idea around about 2 3.0 Jasper long blocks..but dont know if the 270 outdrives are functional..(darned trim units are around 300 plus dollars..if you can find them!!!)..so another bag o worms there as well!!!Also, I am not set up to pull those engines with my little engine hoist (worked good on my shammy but obviously not on this hull)
The trailer is also a 1975 no brakes etc...etc. so in reality I would be purchasing just a hull ...and at that price its not feasible or profitable in the end... for me at least (guess they never really are)!!!!..

Plus my gut feeling told me to walk away from it after a long inspection etc..!!!!

Just thinking outloud and typing...excuse my babbling!! :D

Rule #3 in buying any vehicle or vessel: You must be willing to walk away.

Fred, if your gut feeling was telling you to walk away, that means you were at least subconsciously aware that it wasn't a good deal.

Out of nearly 100 purchased, I have only twice in 42 years sold a vessel or vehicle at a loss. For both those purchases, my gut told me to walk away, but I wanted them too much to do that. One was a '67 Maserati Merak I purchased from my cousin in '79, and one was a Wellcraft 255 Suncruiser I bought in '84, and I regretted both purchases later. (Yes, there were women involved in both instances).

MORAL OF THE STORY: When your gut tells you something like that, honor the threat!

His add says "No SeaCraft Wannabe's"

Unless it's a Moesly 21 that that you've only seen in thumbnail pics that is 2000 miles away ;)

Fred gotta call you on this one - the gut feeling was the broom handle your wife was poking your belly with. :D

The Merak was ugly but hey - it was a Maserati... the Suncruiser - well I'm gonna guess you were under the influence...

Okay, that may be a valid exception. Maybe a 27' Seamaster, 27' SeaVilla, or (especially) a 27' SeaVette, too. Depending on what day you talk to Carl, they only made either 3 or 7 of the 27' SeaVettes

No, but my grandfather was an exotic car collector, and multi-millionaire real-estate developer. He taught me how to buy and sell. Funny thing is, in every case I revealed the complete truth about every known defect about every vehicle or vessel, and never, never pushed anyone to buy. I have, however, pushed people to sell :D

The Maserati was beautiful, not ugly, but still a POS.http://reocities.com/MadisonAvenue/4430/merak.jpg I couldn't keep it running to save my wallet! I bought it to impress a woman I shouldn't have been trying to impress. (That's not mine, just a photo of one off the net)

The Wellcraft 255 Suncruiser was an attempt to make my affianced happier about spending so much time on the water. She died about 6 weeks after I bought it. After her death I simply sold it as fast as possible.
