You might hit a fair bit of traffic due to it being the ten year anniversary of 9/11/01. Hard to imagine it's been 10 years already.

As far as the Cape/Vineyard/Nantucket go, you picked a good time of year because it's considered the off season (kids back to school). I do a fair bit of traveling on the road in New England.
