Thickened resin putty (with cabosil) and countersunk pan head stainless screws. Nothing works better. Then lay glass 2-3in up the inside wall of the inner hull.

Has anyone tried the extra slow hardener #209 from west system- made for the tropics? I use the slow hardener #206 up here in the NorthEast with good results unless it is really cold, then I use the fast #205 hardener.

I think the #209 mixes at a different ratio, so watch out you have the right pump.

Also, a double boiler filled with ice water as a cooled resin pot might help for big batches.

A gallon of micro baloons from Merton's was cheap. You probably want a different filler, but it was a better deal than west system.

Thank you for replies. The liquies nails idea was scrapped. I found a product called plexus and something similar sold by FGCI.

secondary bonding with epoxy would be best if you do not have tight tolerances. Plexus (methacrylate) is good stuff if you have a tighter fit of parts.

Epoxy glue is probably cheaper too.

Deck Bonding

Billy,

It looks like ideal product if it comes out premixed and you do not have to buy it in 55 gallon drums. I called customer service in California and they sent me to Sales Rep in NJ, Davis Marketing.

Where do you buy it and is it sold by the gallon?

Thank you
