It's not just the wind in your face that is nice as you can just stick your head around the corner for a breeze. I found it would be nice to have the front window hinge because when I get up early to go fishing there is always condensation on the window which severly limits visibility, like your car in the morning.

i started a similar project on my own boat
i started by "squaring" the console - the console is built in a mold,ithas a negative draft,meaning it tapers.iftat taper i left,the pilot house can look like a "teepee"...

i made a similar pattern,using underlayment,i set th forward window,as you did,at an angle...

using compostes,penske board,to build mine

here's the thead http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...ad.php?t=23408

i own/operate a marine repair biz,finding time to work on my own boat has proved difficult

if i have time to work on my own boat,that means i've got no other work - and that's not good !

Mine had the same taper. The sides are actually two pieces stacked on top of each other. The console had a little lip where the old windshield mounted. At that point I pegged it and straightened it back out so it was perfectly perpendicular with the ground. I glassed PVC to the back edge to give it stability and help mask this "kink". You can tell only if you really look at it.

Here are some pics of mine. I'm just starting the process of mounting all the gauges, rigging, wiring and electronics. Good luck with yours, lets see some progress pics.
