Wow, I need to expand my C.L. search out a little further, Cant believe you got this one!!! Priced right too!!! Still waiting for one to pop up near me so I can pounce myself. 25's are hard to come by, especially at that price. Congratulations on the score!:)

Big,
Congrats on a great find, and now I get to watch another restoration, without having to do any work.I'm looking forward to the coming progress.
You said you were a liar, but we all know that's not true, you just have the disease.I've said all the time that I'd never ever do another restore, but let's face it who am I or any of us kidding.
We're like drug addicts, just a hair away from the next high, only ours leads to a much ending.

Good luck with the project.

Tim, If it also came with that trailer, you did real good...

There is another one out there ....
In Florida.....
Near Tallahassee......

Not FREE...

Trying not to break the rules!

NB - Gotta go back in a week or two to get the Float on Trailer. It's an old pre 1980 float on with the rectangular torsion axels and non standard bearing sizes. I was gonna disassemble it and toss it in the cockpit, but it was way way too big to fit nicely (and there were some wasps in the boat). Pulled a hub off with bearings to get the right ones. Previous owner was super nice to let me keep the old trailer there for another week or 2 until I get everything worked out.

Great score Tim! I got to ride on both Dave's and Connor's 25 Seafari's last weekend and they're awesome riding boats! But be prepared for some serious banking in turns, sort of like an F-16! I think I'd move those trim tabs to the outer panel and maybe copy Dave's enlarged fiberglass trim tab modification. It's a pretty clever design and he says it's very effective! Denny

Thanks Everyone!! The pics of the 25 in action and all the talk from the gathering about the 25's has got me worked up. I've been reading the restore threads from start to finish about 10 times.

Thanks Denny . . . Roger on the tabs. I love Dave's seating arrangement too

GFSM . . . I can't wait to see pics of your race boat flying at the next gathering.

cdavisdb - Sign me up for the trip . . . just give me a year or 2 to get her in tip top shape. I found a couple of blisters on the bottom and a few on the cap, but overall the gelcoat is in fantastic shape for 1972.

BigE - It's a borderline hoarding problem now :) I have to keep reminding myself that you can only drive one at a time.

FF - Thanks! I can't wait to hear how the race boats run and compare to the 25.

Chucky . . . engine looks decent (missing some hoses and a few little things). It has a TRS Gimbal Housing which is MINT. The boat didn't come with a drive, but I have a friend that has a TR outdrive for sale with a prop off a 23 (that had a 350), so I might pick that up if price is right.

Jeeez "Big", I thought you would at least feel a little bit bad, or maybe a teeny bit guilty about your find, however I see nothing to indicate that!!! :) :) Great job and I'm looking forward to the rebuild porn! Good luck!

Funny you mention it . . . I actually tried to give the owner some money, but he wouldn't take it. This was his brothers boat who had passed away a while back. The owner was thrilled that I knew the make and model of the boat and that I was gonna "restore it and use it". He said "just call me when you are done and give me a ride". Sorry if I sound like I am gloating about the free part . . . not trying to rub it in . . . just celebrating about the condition (which was a total surprise). The more I dug yesterday . . . the more I smiled. Took 2.5hours and 3 dump runs to get the junk and leaves out of the cockpit.

Awesome find by Strick ... and well worth your trip!
You're going to love this one!
She really looks in great shape ... I agree with Strick, do what you gotta do then splash!
And ... take lots of pictures to post.

Tim,
Very nice find. I'm looking forward to progress pics. I can feel your excitement from here. :D Yours is Hull #24, mine is #19. You're going to love this boat once you get used to her handling. She banks more than an F16 in the turns!

If you're interested, I still have the two piece mold for the trim plane extensions. They'll only fit if you move the tabs out to the outer panel, but, man, are they responsive. I can keep the boat level in a sharp turn if I enter some opposite tab as I turn the wheel, and I can hold the wheel straight and turn the boat with just the tabs. It's very weird leaning to the outside in a turn.

Dave
