We had a 1980 85 HP on our 20CC and it ran great (and entirely adequately) for years until it's untimely retirement in 2010. It was replaced with a new 90 eTec, which, I believe, is the perfect motor for that hull.
Our 19' Bowrider also has a 90 eTec, which I believe is also the perfect motor for that hull. |
I have a 20. If I had to get another 370 lb 4 stroke, it would probably be that 115 merc. (I have a Yamaha F100 at ~370 lb)
If I had my choice when I repower, it would be something lighter- probably a 335 lb 25" shaft Etec 90. For a boat 2 feet shorter, I'd be inclined to go for something like a lighter 90. |
I couldn't imagine having less hp then my old 375# jonnyrude 150 on the back of the 18. I wonder how close the prop hp on my "loose" old motor would be compared to a new 90 e-tech.
