I agree wholeheartedly with Capt'n Terry.

Anchor "stern to" the shore. Just be aware and keep watch of the tide. You could easily get stuck on the hard - not a good thing. The aft anchor serves double duty. In other situations you will likely use it as a noon or lunch anchor. Good enough for stopping and eating a sandwich without having to deploy the heavier normal anchor we should all be equipped with and it should be properly sized for the size and weight of your boat. Not just the biggest anchor you can afford. Anchor weight is not as important as holding power. Be sure to include adequate length of chain of the proper size!
