Rob, What kind of performance #s are you getting on your V-Rod powered Scepter? It would be interesting to see how they compare to what I and others are getting.

Ken,
Right now i have a worked Powertech OFS 4 blade has some extra cup in it and its a 18p. Top End is 56 mph with a cruise of 4000 RPM's i am getting 37 mph burning 11 GPH. If i run much over 4000 the Gas Really dumps.

I tried to prop this for max cruising potential so monkey around with the engine height a lot and then propping. I don't have enough time on it yet to make all the tweaks.

Be taking it to the Coast in about 4 weeks..

Also keep in mind that is with the Simon Motorsports PCM Flash. I will say the Power curve delivery is way better with the simon mapping that merc ever thought it would be and a Hell of a lot more Torque across the band.

Also i am still waiting to find a 17p Rev-4 Prop turn it then send it off and get it worked as well and see if it will do better. I mean the numbers are great but i think there is still room for improvement.

I noticed while looking at the 300 and 350 verados they want you to burn the higher octane gas (hint, hint) for "premium performance".....

"Unleaded Regular 87 Octane Minimum (R+M)/2 or 91 RON Unleaded 91 Octane or 95 RON for premium performance in all conditions 10% Ethanol Maximum"

Are you running the 87 octane or did you move up in $$$ and buy the expensive stuff? I see a lot of Rec90 for sale at marinas but not too much 95 RON.

Don,
My understanding is the 350 wants 91 OCT... and 200 to 300 can run on 87 but makes a little more power on better gas. I am a knucklehead who always runs 91 regardless... Ran it in all 3 of my verados, my 225 EFI my 250 OX66, more of an added insurance. Since my Tsunami is a Trailer Queen It doesnt rip my pocket book to hard at the Real Pump. Plus i am Uber religious about pre-emptive maintenance... Change oil on the V-rod ever 75 hours, new plugs at Cough Cough $11 each, Fuel filters on the Engine as well as the Racor.

I don't usually have the issues that many have... Not to mention i also just change the Gear Lube as well. Cost about $230 To service myself and takes me about an hour to do. Figure the running costs are minor versus buying new motors.

Robert

u can run the GEN 2's on 87 I believe 350hp but not recommended.

this comes down to what you want, and things like availability and service .looks like
Verardo has the best all around numbers. but its not for me ,although it would look pretty bad ass on the back . my connection with yamaha steers me that way, and has plenty of servicing dealers in our area.need to go with pros and cons....

Fast..Totally agree. Definitely look at F250 vs sho on price. You are only giving up 1.2 mph to the f300 IMHO.

Good luck with the power. Yamaha makes a great motor.
