Some of my trailers I have swapped the 4 ply out and went up to an 8 ply to avoid tire issues. Tough to do if you have 14" wheels like on most boat trailers. I just noticed the other day one trailer had tires that were going slack and realized the cheep crap valve stems they swapped out were dry rotted. One popped right off when I tried to air it up. Went back with metal bolt in type.
