One thing I wish I had done when I redid the steering on my 23 sceptre was get the hoses with the strain relief bulkhead fittings on them. Or alternatively bought a thread on bulkhead fitting and used separate hoses from the transom to the motor (I have an enclosed transom with a bracket).
Just would have been a neater install. http://www.seastarsolutions.com/wp-c.../05/HO8110.png SEASTAR Bulkhead Hose Kits (HO81_ _*) or http://www.seastarsolutions.com/wp-c.../HO86XX-01.png Stainless Steel Bulkhead Hose Kits or https://www.go2marine.com/item-image...ting-kit_0.jpg As it was, I used the uflex R8B hydraulic hose dual bulkhead fitting, which fits over the full length hose, and looks OK. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....bA2IL._AC_.jpg |
See thanks why I come and get all these great ideas.
I like the look and plan on doing exactly that Thanks for the tip |
Heres what mine ended up looking like.
Had i planned ahead a bit, I could've made it look a little better. But its definitely good enough. I had the engine off, and the bracket off for paint, and I was working on the transom blah, blah, blah. Cant always think of everything!! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/6J...=w1270-h953-no |
