I have not done a southern ham for a gathering.

Welcome to the site Jack...I've always liked the lines on the newer 20's from the 80's as they are a little longer...being over here on the west coast I've only had the opportunity to climb aboard one and poke around for a bit...I think most 20's could benefit form a couple inches in deck height like gofast says...good luck with your project!
