Thanks buddy! I guess I could drive to that area in about 6 hours (without a boat of course) and meet someone at a dock somewhere. I'll let you know early enough if I can make it and thanks again! Jorge, how about it, think you can make it too? Sounds like a good time! :D

Easy drive for you 75 all the way to Tampa then Veterens Expressway--CAKE WALK

On another note for guys running in, we will have a Certified OMC and MERC mechanic and the owners of American Marine there, so no worries.

ESD, et al- this is lookin' like a killer event....

I just moved my youngest son, 18, down to St. Pete, a couple weeks ago, where he's staying with my oldest son (29) prior to moving over to Winter Park for school... the end of April... so I'd been thinking of flying down then to help the move....

so, now, if I added a little time to the trip, to free up the Sat, 4/28 - any chances of gettin a lift for 3 avid fishermen, out there, for the day ???

just curious...

Sure -- honest guys picking people up not an issue its a couple miles from the island to the ramp at the mouth of the Anclote river, plus it gives somebody a chance race around in their boat :D

My Winter Park office is two blocks from there.
You bet someone will get you out to the event.

Ok looks like the Mosely's are settled, I have a hotel we can drive them right to the dock, in the pic's its at that big developed area slightly NE of the north bar so not far at all.
Bones get out there and get that wood cut so its nice and dry,and keep it dry. :D But we do need firewood so if everyone say could get a pack from the grocery store or Hardware since its easy to carry and doesn't make a mess but it will be gone soon.

If anyone doesn't want to camp here is the link, very inexpensive:

Chainsawing is on the list for this weekend.
I have tons of Oaks, Hickory & Cedar that has been laying on the ground for two years. I will pile the back of the ole' Dodge P/up with as much as I can. I have several others
from this side that are coming and will load them up as well. It will be a hoot!!!!!

If everyone brought a little it wouldn't be so hard on you, I was just trying to help.

FYI-anybody looking for new camping gear this is a good site
http://www.texsport.net/index.php
I just bought the Heatherwood I think $44 and 2 cots, the tent is an excellent island tent, becareful on any tent that the fly does not cover the windows so the wind can get thru or it will over blow over easy- check the tent I bought and you'll see what I mean. Don't ask

Nice to have you, are driving the boat down from Yankeetown or trailering?

I will trailer it down, do you know of any ramps near crystal beach in palm harbor? My parents live nearby and I would leave the truck at their house.

Re: Anclote Key Gathering 04/28/2007

NoBones - no, he's going into Full Sail, in the Computer Animation program, in early May - when I moved him down a couple weeks ago, we were driving a rent-a-truck, so couldn't take time to stop, but thanks for the invite, should have gotten back sooner... then got snowed out of going home for a couple of days... spent the time fishing at Pass-a-Grill.... nice, along with a trip up to Orlando to visit the school, coordinate some stuff, and find him an apartment in Winter Park - FS has no student housing - so that's primarily what I'm coming back down for, get a local rent a truck and move him from St. Pete to Winter Park, but I figure pop down a couple days early, get that done, and then spend Sat at this event...

This should then get me fired up prime time to get going on stuff I want to do on my boat, to get ready for the season !!!

I do appreciate the ferrying offer - will stay in touch on this - talked to the boys last night, they're psyched !!

Bill

I can not edit my post on camping gear and it has a major flaw, the fly on the tent CAN NOT come down over the windows, the Seabreeze will just blow it over with out a way to vent through, of course the fact that its in sand doesn't help either.

Good news all,
So far we are up to 24 people coming.
Lets make this the best thing ever.
I will gladly shuttle anyone that decides not to bring
there SEACRAFT, just kidding! Classic Whaler and Mako
can do there own thing. THANK GOD there is no classic Sailfish! EggSucker has already posted a motel close to Anclote for those that are not brave enough to tough it out
with the rest of us. SHOOT, I have not camped in a tent for
32 years, but what the heck, I'll try anything once. OK maybe twice if I'm brave enough. Lets keep it going. make your reservations now to be sure you whimps have a motel room. Go ahead and laugh, Because we will all be laughing around the campfire Saturday night. Uhh Oh, we may need a
designated driver to shuttle you back to the motel. :D
See ya soon, Ken

Re: Anclote Key Gathering 04/28/2007

Ken post a list of people coming and how many your counting them for, then we can fine tune it. Also PM Ken if you need help with anything like ramps, since coming from the south the answer may be different from the north.

Some one asked about a ramp near Crystal Bch, there is a very good ramp at Palm Harbor Resort on ALT 19 just a tad south of Crystal Bch., county just bought it. contact me if you are trying a 23 out of there though since I think there is a Low tide late morning.

I'm looking in to getting down there for this gathering, but don't think I'll be able to bring a boat. I WISH I could trailer my 65 bowrider down, but there's just too much going on for me right now to do that. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone, sounds like a fun time

Re: Anclote Key Gathering 04/28/2007

Yes this appears to be shaping up as the Classic SeaCraft gathering of Biblical Proportions:

A little Update: The official begining will be Friday now- I along with Capt Matt will be out there and the Mosely's have Friday night reserved so they will be around as well.

ANYONE BRINGING FOOD/ Somewhat reluctantly my lovely Susan aka The Martha Stewart of Yachting & Camping has agreed to be a contact person for the food. If you have any questions on what to bring or an idea for something she has a good handle on Island cooking- email her. I suggested this so we don't end up with 42 lbs of Baked Beans :D Basically you should be bringing food for your group and plan on taking whatever you bring back with you, especially day visitors. If you want to bring a larger amount please let her know, so we can tell other people not to bring anymore of that item. Susan Peterson SPeterson@ssd.com

I am awaiting word on a private ramp and parking which would end all our ramp problems - so stay tuned

I am also working on a shower/bathroom enclosure but its still in the planning stage

Any further questions feel free to call me, 813 880 0922 or 813 992 5794c

Tow Boat and I have one on FS WC which he just BTT'd and I posted it in SW also. I don't think there are any on Capt Mel but I could be wrong. I will go do the other side on FS. I agree with keeping it mostly SC its big enough as it is and I don't like kayaker's that much :D

Go right now to the liquer store and get some Capt Morgan and get a little Capt in you :D :D and we'll talk again tomorrow, remember you only live once ;)

Rumor has it that Florida's Classic SeaCraft guru Capt Chuck ( or Chunk as some refer too) will also be attending, I know alot of guys were waiting for this breaking news before making plans :D

No Bones will also have a photo printer out on the island, so maybe if your real nice Carl will autograph a pic for you ;)

Re: Anclote Key Gathering 04/28/2007

Just got off the phone with Dixon (Eggsuckindog)
Secure rampage and parking with the best directions are forth coming. The count is over 50 people as we speak.
We are trying to keep this a Classic SeaCraft gathering, because that is what this about. Patti and I look forward to meeting all of our online friends. How many chances do you get to have this kind of event. Thats why this web site is so popular.
And again let me know if you are in or out.
I plan to bring the laptop with the Kodak printer for
pictures to be printed on the spot.
See you all soon , Ken

RC-You made the cutoff (1983) on well built SC's. Bring it if just needs finish work. Can't help you with Gainsville connections (Go Noles). One of the other members on here is coming from Hog Town too, you may need to check the thread farther back to find it. This is going to be an excellent event.

I might cut across SR40 to go there. Have not decided yet,
but will be more than happy to let you ride on the 40 cords of wood, :( I will be bringing.
No problem with ferry trip to and from. Ken
