Re: MIAMI AREA

i have no problem doing the sanding and stuff but am lookin for the hand of experience to lay the paint. i think i have 2 problems. 1 i think something is up with the spray guy or the second is my environment. i have the console in a small tent to keep bugs and leaves off of it but for some reason after i shoot it there is always some stuff on the surface.

huh?

That means I trade work for other things than money sometimes example transome and floor job for underground electrical service to my house, painted the sides of a boat for an engine things like that.Jose

Re: MIAMI AREA

LOL...I hear ya man I went to see him yesterday he does really nice work. His boat is beautiful!

So about the madien voyage...The boat rides great im only getting 49oo rpm's and that equals 40 mph! Think i'm going to change prop!

Blue197320 05-12-2007 01:34 PM

Re: MIAMI AREA

that motor u should be at about 5500 WOT. i had a 15x17 michigan wheel on my 150. maybe u could try that one.. my dad convinced me to try ONE final time on this painting thing. i was using a gun that shot way too much paint so i bought a smaller one and am gonna try it again shortly after i sand the runs from before...

bunderwood 05-12-2007 02:53 PM

Re: MIAMI AREA

there is a 19pithch prop on there now im going to try out a 17 p and see what happens.

You may want to check if all cylinders are fireing maybe one coil on stator could be bad ( major slow down)that would be hard to detect just by hearing engine run .Jose

bunderwood 05-12-2007 04:14 PM

Re: MIAMI AREA

OK thanks jose I'll check that too!

close the paint flow valve to 30 to 50 percent open, and open the fan all the way, apply your coverage light and hold gun about 8 inches away from the work area, If the paint is thinned properly it should take three coats ( one fine tack coat and two, two pass coats )to cover the console, Dont rush, there is no way you can posibly mess up more than I have learning how to paint. Re: MIAMI AREA

Jose Thought you were fishing all weekend what happened?

Blue197320 05-12-2007 04:25 PM

Re: MIAMI AREA

when i did my prop i went to west marine and they let me try a few and return them until i found a good one as long as i didnt bang them up. i think i tried out a 14.5x19 maybe a 14x19 cant remember but it was too much because i was only getting around 5000 rpm at 39 mph but i had no more holeshot with that prop.

bunderwood 05-12-2007 04:28 PM

Re: MIAMI AREA

yeah I have a prop that came off my girls dads boat that im going to try I think its a 17 p 4 blade stainless. I'll see what it does and go from there Also dalton marine i hear will let you test a prop so that will be the next move.

Re: MIAMI AREA

i just shot the nicest coat ever. i went to home depot and bought the cheap 30 dollar touch up gun and used that. i know they sell the same one at harbor freight for $9.99 but home depot was closer so i got that one. it seemed to work rather well and i left the paint a little thicker than water. im hoping that after it dries ill be good to go!!!

bunderwood 05-12-2007 07:19 PM

Re: MIAMI AREA
