Re: 27 project
Not only are engines needed....I was wondering where the C/C is on the SeeVee? "Seemed like a good deal, really honey, I just must have missed that center console part of the boat". :)

Re: 27 project
Ken and I smoked a bowl and shared some koolaide on the way to check out the Seamaster. What a mega major project. After checking it out Ken explained that $33225.50 wasn't really so much and 100 days of labor each was no problem. By that time the koolaide was really kickin' in so I said WTF. After all, it wasn't "bringin' home one more project home" like my bride warned me about. It was only a half and besides it would stay at the NoBones compound. I just hope everyone stays off and doesn't run up the price. Dave

then 65 Bowrider also gave me the heads up. If this were a 15' Scampi it would have never gone public. This 27 is going to be a MAJOR re-do who ever ends up with her. This does not mean I'am throwing in the towel, but drawing the line . Just to move this boat is going to cost any where from $500.00 up depending on the distance. This boat is less then 14 miles from area 442. (my home) All 4 tires are shot. The hubs of this mobile home frame trailer are questionable at best. This rig has not moved in 28 years. The area to work in is very tight. All in all I would love to take possession of this 27 Seamaster. It will truly be a labor of love and a one of kind. Fellowship's post on what is out there in the price range of the re-do makes you think about what all is involved. This a rare breed of a hull and as cool as it gets for a collectible. Just alot of soul searching to do before the bid closes in less then 24 hours. Again thanks to all for their support and no hard feelings if this goes to someone else. See ya, Ken |
Re: 27 project
Ken,
You have been a long time loyal fan of CSC and also an enthusiastic supporter of the original Moesly designs. If you want her, then you deserve to have her. Best of luck and I hope you win. |

Trayder please forgive us on this thread as we have
broken all the rules of boats for sale on CSC. This one has touched all of us. Here are a few more pics from today while Dave and I were high on hope and change.... http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0020.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0025.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0029.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...PDR_0013-1.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0012.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0032.jpg See ya, Ken |
Re: 27 project
Hi NoBones:
Here is a post I put up on 6/14/05 I guess it is still true today. To do a project boat is for some people Something Special and for others its something Stupid. Truly It Is A Labor Of Love. And ITS NOT CHEEP EVEN IF YOU DO IT YOUR SELF. And if you have someone else doing the job will you probably could buy a new boat for what it will cost to have someone else do it for ya. Heres the deal. What ever you think it will cost add 50 to 65% more to the cost and you got it right and what ever the length of time you think it will take double it and you are in the ball park and YOU BETTER LIKE DRINKING BEER OR YOUR NEVER GET DONE. This is not a Logical Decision one makes, this is a Labor Of Love. People buy antique paintings for millions of $$$ and old cars for hundreds of thousands of $$$ we do boats for one of two reasons WE LOVE OUR SEACRAFTS, or GOD is punishing us with a lot of work for something we did to make him mad. I put in over a year / 150 days of work and $32,000 to do my boat. If I were to think about this thing logically I could have bought a real good 5 year old boat that didnt need anything done for approx the same amount of cash. We Are One sick Group Of People Here and if you hang around long enough you could get infected with a obsession that will never get better so you just got to give into it and do one your self. Bottom line is this there are a lot of guys here that could buy any boat they want others want a great boat for approx 50 cense on a buck but after you do one your self you will be more proud of your accomplishment and boat that if you got a new one of any boat manufacturer on the market. That why I really look at my boat as a 23 SeaCraft CUSTOM BUILD BY KEN. I know that might not make any sense but it is true never the less. FellowShip FellowShip . Re: 27 project
I guess by the time you guys got there you were so snookered on the Kool-aid that you didn't see my flat bed up the drive two properties...yeah, that's right, the one with the CA plates behind the blue Freightliner...yeah... I saw it first so you better start looking for another piggy-bank to crack into :D :D :D ;)
What a beauty! - like finding the Santa Maria on your favorite reef. Great helm layout. Looks like a couple hours on your power washer and your in business. :D Good luck with the bid! |
Re: 27 project
Amen Capt Chuck thats what I had in mind as well. No Bones, i let a 21 racer get away a couple years ago and I wish I had not, even though it made no sense at all. Good luck! all us dreamers are rootin for you
|
Re: 27 project
Go for it Ken! A little rubbing compound and that red will shine right up. Hopefully the bridge is rotted beyond repair because I'm with Capt. Chuck...

Re: 27 project
Ken it would be an honor to drive over with the first gallon of bleach and lift a glass to the first pull of the pressure washer.

Re: 27 project
Ken,
This is getting pretty cool!!! Down to less than 8 1/2 hours to victory!! There are only a VERY select few in this world that understand just how crazy we are and also understand the CSC curse we are affected with....no, no not even thiking about the big 'ol joints and koolaid consumed in area 442 altering your state of mind!! Let us know how it turns out!! My suggestion in a minimum 8gb memory card for your digital camera to keep record the project. Again GOOD LUCK!! :) |
Re: 27 project
Did anyone of us save her?
|
Re: 27 project
It's Mine !!!
Thanks to all that backed me up.... :D :D :D See ya, Ken |

Re: 27 project
Glad you got her. My guess this will turn out to be the cheapest to buy & most expensive boat in you personal marina. I am sure you will do a great job fixing her up and will love seeing your dream come true.

Re: 27 project
Congrats to you and Patti!
That'll be one s.w.e.e.t boat when you're done! When is "Ken-Do" coming home? |
Re: 27 project
"Ken-Do" should be the "operation's name."
"Kan-Do" or "Ken-Did" could be the boat name. Just my thoughts!!!!!!! Congrats, KUDO's and lots of luck on the rebuild. PS. That "Savage" style 27 looks like a REAL killer boat!!!! Living . breathing and capable BOAT PORN!!!!! ;) ;) |
Re: 27 project

Had to wait for the crack to wear off before coming back
and thanking all my CSC friends. This to me is the score of the year! Until that dad-gum Scampi comes around. This 27 is the tank of tanks. Yes it is in sad sad shape. That was no BS about the rats, termites etc... My buddy in the wrecker business is going to impound her for 45 days do all the paper work for $125 and then have a clean title in hand. :D The rig is to tall to flat bed or lowboy out. She is going to have to roll on her own 4 feet. New tires will do the trick. Unsure of the bearings until it is jacked up. I will keep you all posted on the progress. I have 2 Sceptre's and 1 Savage at area 442 that will be coming to the market place real soon. Thanks again, you all are the best in our CSC community. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...PDR_0013-2.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...PDR_0016-1.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...PDR_0010-1.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...PDR_0018-1.jpg The lines of these SeaCrafts make me sweat!!!! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0032.jpg See ya, Ken |
Re: 27 project
"No guts: No Glory"
Ken, you've got the guts and it'll should be a blast to follow the trail to glory. Keep at least one of the "minor" syblings for, shall we say "moments of encouragement"! Congrats, Guy. |
Re: 27 project
Congratulations Ken! That's gotta be the save of the decade! Sounds like a CSC Gathering/Fairing and Sanding party at Area 442 is in order! Denny

Re: 27 project
Wow! Congratulations on the rare find. Lets get the cap from the guy that cut up his Seavette, modify it to fit your boat and build another 27 Seavette it could be hull #4. :D We could put twin 502's in that bad boy. I wish that we lived closer, I would love to help you get that sucker home.

Re: 27 project
Way to go, Ken. The deck lines of the 27 SeaMaster are very like the 20' and 25' Seafari. Tres belle.
If you need someone fairly close to pull it for you, I've got a frame-pull rating of 21,400 lbs with my Ford diesel SuperDuty, and a drawbar with a 2 5/16" ball rated for 16,000 lb pull / 1500 lb tongue weight. I'm about 90-100 miles away, and travel to the east coast of FL often. |

Man...I'm too far north!
I know there's some old guy in Newfoundland thats got one of those in a barn somewhere...if so, I'm all over it! I wish they would've remembered to put the bubble around that capsule back in 82. A little bit of r and r(recon and restoration) hopefully will bring a lot of r and r (the good kind). Congrats |
