Re: Tournament 27

Thanks boo. She is a great boat. Ran her for several years before the total rebuild. She is a fishing machine.

toddslures 10-20-2011 08:37 PM

Open to any trades plus some cash. Lets make a deal. I want to move it out of my shop. It has been kept indoors since the begining of the rebuild. She is just a little dusty right now. I will even consider delivering her as well.

To those that sent me e-mails and texts please send me your info again. The technology of the phone and computer decided that it needed to dump all my info for me, gotta love that. Anyway I still have it and am interested in the trades and cash or just the cash deal. Sorry for the hickup.

Trades?

toddslures 02-24-2013 12:55 AM

23 trade? Cash delivered deal? I'm open to offers and rades.

Blue_Heron 02-24-2013 10:10 AM

This boat would be sweet with Pelican's twin 250 etecs. Maybe these pics from Todd's progress thread will help the sale. The workmanship is pretty amazing.

I would love to own this thing I just don't have the $ to finish it.
2 x 200's or a single 350hp would suit me fine.

One sweet rig, Im surprised some one hasn't scooped this one up yet. If someone had an extra 30k and had a nice pair of motors this would be an ez project to complete. All the hard work is done.

Todd, left a message on your phone inquiring about your boat.

Absolutely a beautiful restore Todd did on this 27 !!
You will not be disappointed..

Just add power ..:)

TBubrick 02-21-2018 10:01 PM

Got a call from Todd, still available

So, having looked at a project boat today, a 23 with a gentleman who does work, its going to be a lot of money and time.

So, we will look at one much closer to completion or so it seems.

So, how would you guys recommend to power this boat? Moving to the Boca or Lauderdale area so the boat would be run both inside and out.

Seems from the photos, the bracket is set up for twins.

DonV 02-21-2018 10:42 PM

Let's see, there is the added weight of a T-top, hardware, etc. to complete the boat's weight, I'd be looking at twin 200's minimum and 250's max. My brother's 29' SeaVee does very, very well with 200 HO G1 etecs, I would think both the 27 SeaCraft and 29 SeaVee's weights might be close so there is a baseline.

manitunc 02-22-2018 10:54 AM

A pair of new Mercury 225 four strokes would be perfect. Not too heavy, easy to rig. I'd like to pick up Todd's boat myself if I could sell my two others.

Don, I agree a pair of 200s would do it but it's a big 27 and if it were me I would go with a pair of 300s in any brand to attain a high cruise speed below the fuel curve peak. 300 ponies on my sled is well overboard on power but to be able to cruise fully loaded @ 30 knots getting 30% better fuel economy than my 250 @ 27 knots was worth the hp upgrade.

Again, I was seriously considering Todds boat and without a doubt it was going to get either twin 300s or a single 350 Yamaha if I would have pulled the trigger.

DonV 02-22-2018 07:35 PM

Hey I'm with ya twin 300s would be really sweet!!! I only know about this hull from what I've seen on this forum, I don't think speed is one of it's redeeming factors. However solidness and fish-ability are!!!!! Aw shoot, why not go crazy, a Marine7 627 hp would be sweet!! :)

A 557 would actually be great if they were not priced so bad. I dig the idea of a big single for simplicity cost and drag reduction. I even think the 350 AP would do it but going below 400 hp would steer me to the Yamaha with the bigger displacement.

I wonder what Todd used on the coring for the deck and transom. Composite would have cut some of the weight and expanded the Power options some. Either way it is the best buy out there for a hull of this rarity.

DonV 02-22-2018 10:23 PM

I asked the Marine7 salesman at the show what their engines went for. We were standing next to the 627, he said they start around $75k. I did not know if that was a 557 or a 627 hp engine, i just knew it was way, way, way above my tax racket!!!! Ouch!

1100 lbs is a bit heavy for a single.

Todd had planned for twin 275 Mercs.
Easy plane out on one.
