I would bet you could have 15 builders out there that would pop that hull. We could start a co-op and start selling those puppy's right here. :D :o |

Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
thats right lots of them here i own wayne beal's first power boat for lobstering that him and calvin beal built i know that fellas really well along with willis beal designer of RP boats and my close relative Osmand Beal designer of H&H.

Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
My granther father built wooden lobster boats for 22 years but he only made one glass mold and it was off of a 22ft outboard design he made. I've been after him to make a mold off of his 28ft lobster boat he has that him and my great grandfather built in 1976 or they 30ft that my uncle found and bought that gramp built and that looks like it just came out that boat shop.

Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
WoW. here we go.
I'll take one if you're popping hulls out. :D Nice find. |
Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
i'd prob have a lawsuit on my hands i'm sure someone must have some kind of legal rights to the hull design
|
Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
Actually, the patent restrictions have all expired. This variable deadrise hull design is now being copied by at least a dozen boat manufacturers.
You can legally pop a mold off the hull. BTW, Carla, who posted earlier, is the daughter of the man who designed the famous SeaCraft hull, and a big fan of this hull (and her Dad). Carl Moesly is still around, and lives in Yankeetown, less than 10 miles from me. (Or at least he did last year). Perhaps he might bless this endeavor, if asked. |
Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
Jake , have you looked for a Hull Id # on the transom?
Top right. Cheers, GFS |

I am not sure, but Carla can chime in. I do not think this hull is a VDR. The "ole" man now lives in Key Largo. ;) |
Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
I have a reason for asking although I know what you`re saying......ah the onion.

Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
yeah i was bored wanted to see what people would think of it lol. Once again though someone commented on how the boat was sittin in the picture. That stern is soooo heavy and u can't see the log under it really but thats why she's sittin bow high. I did it so i can get it on the trailor a lil easier.

Re: Sea Craft 15' Scamp
Jake-Glad to see you still have the boat and hopefully are thinking about a plan on the 15. Keep us posted....
