I will be there whatever week you have it, Im just 15 miles sound.

If you can get out, the fishing is good (dolphin/cobia), and its better in May when the bait really shows up.

Love testing April. Better for big boats. My favorite time of year for fishin`.

Ok folks..........we have availability for both of the weekends in April I called on. 19th-21st and 26th thru the 28th. Look up our last event there a few years ago or google "long point sebastian" for the web site. This place is the best place on the East Coast to have your tow vehicle, boat, and tent right next to each other. It's quiet being on an island and the city folk can stay across the water at a hotel on the water. Thoughts? There is a poll to answer if your going up top of the thread.

Maybe start a new thread so this won't be so confusing...fall vs. spring:confused:

Thanks Terry. Done

CaptLloyd 10-19-2012 04:22 PM

I put myself down as a maybe. It depends on the yacht's schedule. I'm usually coming up from the Caribbean in April. The second weekend gives me a better chance. If I'm home, I'll run down from Satellite Beach by boat.

I hope I can make it, last time was a great!

Lloyd

Yes, it was a great time!
Check out some pictures/slideshow from the last one at Long Point ... April 2008

Snookerd 10-21-2012 09:08 PM

Great pictures Carla! We have had some great Gatherings over the last 5 years. Thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to seeing a 21,25, and a 27! We need to decide on the date. I think the last weekend in April is our best time. Is everyone else ready to put this thing in motion?

Islandtrader 10-22-2012 08:42 AM

Sounds good to me...

Blue197320 10-22-2012 07:47 PM

i have 2 questions about the area. first off, what kind of fishing is around this area? would i be flying kites or reef fishing? second, for those who have been/camped there during the projected time, what is the weather usually like? comfortable at night in a tent or hot?

NoBones 10-22-2012 08:14 PM

Evan, plain and simple, pack your bags!!
Inshore and offshore will be good in April!!
Long Point is one great location on the East Coast..
It is centrally located for eveyone in the state.
Just like Ft. Desoto on the left coast!!
Lets set the date and Do-It!!
See ya there!

McGillicuddy 10-22-2012 08:42 PM

well, now - it appears we have a spidercrab sighting...
hip, hip - hooray!

You could sell surplus shirts to ME. Temps are OK at night in my mini motel.

The beauty of Sebastian is inshore. The winds will dictate what we Ken Do. If anyone surfs, this is the break on our coast. Off shore, the Cobia are runnin` then and they don`t have the same reef pimp/shark dead head syndrome we have here where depths are much tighter.
Black Dog runs a bonita roped off the transom to shake the pigs away. Thanks for that lesson Bill. Offshore, it is spring and a tad early for the run, but hey, let`s get it. Love me some Cobia.

Run `n gun was proven to be quite effective as well. Mother ocean will allow us to make choices. Can we sign up now or is it 3 mos. out. Let us take all of the good spots in a contiguous manner as before.

Cheers,
Us

Snookerd 10-22-2012 10:27 PM

We can book it now for the last weekend in April.

dave3fl 10-23-2012 02:25 AM

Count me in, we are looking forward to meeting you guys. I might have to hitch a ride with somebody if there is fishing though...I don't have a livewell...or rodholders lol

65Bowrider 10-23-2012 07:35 AM

Just signed in for it.

Now, let's BOOK-IT!

Danny ... Have you contacted Long Point & can we get sites on the point like last time? or can they set-aside 10 contiguous spots ... and then we call in with our reservations?
Maybe you can post some details ... Ph#, cost/night, required deposit, accept credit card?

Ok Danny, take charge, and let's get it set ...
I'm ready to have a great time!

And for those who haven't been to a Florida gathering ... it's not all about fishing ... it's the comradory, seeing/meeting other CSC members, their boats, sharing stories and so much more ... oh yea, and the food ... YUM!
Hope to see you there!

Snookerd 10-23-2012 07:50 AM

Great post Carla.

Here is a link to their site:

http://www.brevardcounty.us/ParksRec...t/Reservations

There are plenty of sites on the water. We are focused on sites in the 70's and 80's for water depth. We will be mixed in with other campers. If I have intel about multiple continuous sites, I will post here. Dates are Fri 4/26 and Sat 4/27. There is a phone # on their web page. Let the booking begin!

Off to a great start for sure!!
It will be here before we know it...;)
Don, at least you are off the Maybe List!!

DonV 10-23-2012 03:26 PM

Yeah....kinda like I was off the "maybe Obama" list along time ago!!! :) I love early voting!

Back to the subject at hand, we're looking forward to the gathering!! Should be a blast! Checked Google earth of Long Point and the "picture" was dated 4/23/2012 and even though it was a Monday it seemed like there were not too many people there. Might have the place, and fish to ourselves.

Snookerd 10-23-2012 05:54 PM

The neighborhood is really slipping Don! The Wood family is in site 80! Only 3 kids 14 and under! They promised me they would be in bed by 3AM though. :). We will be bringing the Potter SUV, AKA our 23 Sceptre. Looking forward to it!

I like how this is shaping up already.

Quit chuckin` my Wood,

DonV 10-23-2012 08:33 PM

I do like it it when the woodchuck chucks that last piece of wood out of spite.

Love that. Snickers bars. Why yes, yes I do have enough for the whole class.

Snicker, and I hope to hold on to prop parts this time.

[QUOTE]`89 23 WA Family Truckster. I`ll bring the woodgrain contact paper and lime green spray bombs./QUOTE]

Sandy, I can't believe you brought up that reference from almost 4 years ago! However, my wife has been bugging me to replace the carpeting in the cabin, so the woodgrain contact paper may come in handy, but I'll pass on the lime green spray bombs.

BTW, it's because of this gathering in '08 that I now have a 23' Seacraft. When my wife saw Briguy's, Skiblet's, Doodlebug's, and Capt Chuck's 23's, see told me to get one. But she wanted a cabin, and easy access to the bow, hence the Tracker 23WA...no regrets.

So let me warn the newcomers. The Seacraft infection gets worse when you actually come in contact with these nuts!

I sure hope I can make it!

Lloyd

Long Point Gathering IN MOTION!

Wow, so much happened in one day ...
Danny - Great job for getting it going.
Ken - Thanks for including us in your reservation ... Neighbors ... GREAT!

We're making it happen & want everyone to join in.
If you haven't been to one ... check out the "Gatherings" on MoeslySeaCraft.
reposting the link for convenience ... http://www.moeslyseacraft.com/gatherings.html
There's 5 slideshows of some of our gatherings ... Great time by all.

AND THEN YOU'LL SEE THE GREAT TIME YOU'LL BE MISSING IF YOU DON'T COME!!!!!!

Remember, it's the people that make this so great ... so call & make your reservation TODAY! thank you.

Bushwacker 10-24-2012 01:26 PM

Weather permitting, I'll plan to "book" the anchorage off the south side like last time, near that isolated ramp. Denny

Blue197320 10-24-2012 07:02 PM

im not sure if it was posted prior but what is the cost for 2 nights?

NoBones 10-24-2012 07:54 PM

We do too! Where is Toddslures?

We will allow the Restless Lady her throne.

Steve,
Can you squeeze that CC28 in?

Lots of thoughts fly back and forth at hi speed. All boats are welcome. I like the old boats and listening to their owner`s plans for the rebuild. Many of our boats are 10 footers. Some are 30 footers. We are pretty tight here in our feelings and expressions, and we throw it all out the window and have a memorable time Florida style.

Cheers,
GFS
