It made me extra mad I missed the Event in November....!

It does have rust stains streaking down the hull.
It Kinda' has a no-skid finish on everything including the dash.
It has scratches through the gel coat, cloth, mat and into the roving.
It usuall smells a little like a stinky dredge with a worn out 671.
It is usually crewed by Crackers, Cajuns and Cubans -
So once again, as we learn in life - the brutal truth is so painful.......

People who think you can take a car engine and stand it on end, don't relize the dang motor oil will leak out the bottom crank case seal. Most of 'em never heard of a Homelight 55 for gosh sakes or they wouldn't touch those dang things! Give me a water-cooled chain saw to power a boat anytime! Besides the second best smelling thing at day break is 50 to 1 mix. (Get you mind out of the gutter son, I'm talking about napalm be'in #1....!)

They are cool boats Captain, I thought it was kinda funny that they bought all the last 200 batch of 3208's Cat built just to install in their boats, just because they were not sure how good the French cast Aluminum Block 3116's were going to hold up. They called that one right.
I just don't get the "melted cheese" Euro Style. Sandy's right - they might be OK tied up at the dock at Monaco, Portafino or Barcelona, but you'd look like a dork at Appalachicola, Bookelia or Goodland where the fish'ins good. Plus the guys in white boots would really make fun of you....!

Traditionally, we start our Spring gathering threads in the Fall. This allows for a Winter of seething simmering of our Northern Brethren. As we post pics in the Spring, they are just about to launch for Summah.

This is then followed by a Spring thread of our Fall gathering, and taunting of the folks on the Cape, with a small covert interruption for Mini Season.

Au contraire mon frere. Mademoiselle Marsha and I have secured site 70. It is my overriding concern not to place myself too close a proximity to 1) nuclear reactor, 2) a volcano or 3) the Port Carla Marina Tiki Hut. Sometimes a little space is a good thing. I mean they have the band going till 2:30 AM or so and then the garbage truck arrives at 4:30 AM to pick up two or three dumpsters full of empty bottles of Don V's rocket fuel. I'm old and cranky and believe me I need my beauty sleep. Broward County's Ranger Rick has assured me that there are no CSC members on either side of our site, just two locals, a Debbie Wasserman Shultz and a Col. Allen West - so things should be quite peaceful. As a "Be Prepared" Sea Scout, additionally I have contacted one "K-Moose" in Ocala, off line, and have scoured all available data, including that in that in the Offshore Hunter software program to determine the best available dive sites for our bivouac. We have located many "targets of opportunity" in this quest. Something's going to get "harpooned". In the mail today I received both the Army Corps of Engineers and the DEP Maintenance Dredging permits for the Long Pointe basin and surrounding estuary so pretty much everything is in order in my end for the dredge Marshtackie to begin work.

Now since you lucky dogs live in Sunny South Florida and don't understand how the rest of us have to endure the long cold winters up here, you would not comprehend that tonight I have to put my snow shoes on, trudge out to the boat shed, take the bubble wrap off my compass and change the oil to 10 weight "winter oil" so it wouldn't freeze and crack the lens. But no matter what, I am committed to driving though the slush to enjoy the warmth of the sun in May at this CSC event. I just hope I cut enough cords of firewood to get through the winter this year - I don't want to loose any more toes or fingers....!
