I do believe that you, Gillie and Sandy are on the same
telepathic link though.... Whew.....let me think about that for a little bit. I misplaced my GFS decoder ring and I'm on my own trying to figure this out with the others telepathically involved. Give me a day or two to work on it....... However I do like the "Flying Conner" Show at the Carnival. :) |
Terry-Yes to #1 and #2.....I guess I'm also trying to stay relevant. I've been afflicted since '02 on CSC. This is a great group.....I'm the token guy with younger kids, but enjoy hearing the old salts' stories that keep getting better with age. Welcome aboard!

Got tired of seeing Sandy's name as the last post.............time for a change:) :)

"Do you think Unca Doug`s neighbors would mind if I built a mini motel 4 plex on the beach?"
I don't see why not?!? I mean really.....How much room does a four plex of one man tents with gallon size zip-loc sleeping bags take up? :) |

Hope my eggs don't get green with envy. Unca Doug found a place so I wont have to pull a permit for my 4 plex. Bringing Awesome Fishing Products for a production pow wow. |

There was a picture from the Anclote Gathering with something that had "CSC" cut into the crust. Was that a pie or some kind of I-talian dish? It made me extra mad I missed the Event in November....! |
We use food as a weapon. I`m still waiting for that kick ass smoked tuna recipe...
Pierre was not there. You can eat or add. Cheers, GFS |
Terry-You seem to be chasing after the "bent prop" award even before the event begins! Keep up the good work...........and please stay in good form. "Robalo"-erd must be a real compliment, thank you kind sir.

[QUOTE=Snookerd;222956]Terry-You seem to be chasing after the "bent prop" award.
Wow, that would be cool. Here are some of my qualifications - 1) I have spent 53 years using the various soil sub-strates of the Eastern Gulf estuaries to not only mathematically reduce the diameter but simultaneously verify if a seriated leading edge would enhance propeller function. This is an ongoing analysis. 2) I have been forcibly escorted out of General Propellor, Admiral Propellor, and C & B Propellor. I just got my first propellor from Ken at Prop Gods. He's very helpful and understanding, so I hope to make it to May or June with him. 3) I "chucked" oyster shells over 25' up in the air one evening "sporting" up the ICW with my 30' T-Craft, because those dang 3208 Cats put out something like 650 Ft. Lbs of torque. It's unbelievable how far you can throw those oyster shells when the turbo is "spooled up". 4) Rounded of to the nearest 10, I have "reshaped" approximately 2,680 props and actually broken one. That was in an airboat and yes - that left a mark...! Please advise if you would like me to submit any more substantiating data or if you need any witnesses as to my character. The authors of those documents should be out of rehab any day now. Standing by for further instructions, Sir |
Uhhh, GFS.....we may just need to send it to Terry now! Qualifications for the bent prop award appear to be in order and then some! All we need is a visual confirmation!?
|
Moving forward the bent prop award will be rechristened the Terry England Dredge.

A Dredge.....! My SeaCraft?
Hmmm, Well let's see - It does have rust stains streaking down the hull. It Kinda' has a no-skid finish on everything including the dash. It has scratches through the gel coat, cloth, mat and into the roving. It usuall smells a little like a stinky dredge with a worn out 671. It is usually crewed by Crackers, Cajuns and Cubans - So once again, as we learn in life - the brutal truth is so painful....... Actually, I guess if I just bolted some tires along the gunwales, I'd be pretty authentic....! I still wouldn't trade it for a brand new Sea Ray - they look like a "cheese" boat somebody put in the microwave for 15 seconds......! |
Ah, the wine and cheese boat. All ships are safe at port, but that is not what they were made for. My boss has a sea ray 32...he is afraid of breaking things. He has hit many channel markers. Yes channel markers. He does not drink much. Scratch head. He thought it was a 36 when he bought her. Twin gassers. Blew one as it overheated.
12k. "They" run her every week at old port cove. They are your enemy. Merry x mas, The Yard GFS My neighbors hate me because I smoke them out. Run your damn boat. |
Terry have. To agree with you can't for the life of me warm up to them know put my as in a cabo and I could be a happy camper ! Fiancé ex was a yacht captain ran a boat called the drum beat for the ex owner of the saints back before they were any good .any way took here to the boat show and fell I loved with the 35 cabo clean and low maintance know IF I was just able to think about one and the ocean access water front home

I just don't get the "melted cheese" Euro Style. Sandy's right - they might be OK tied up at the dock at Monaco, Portafino or Barcelona, but you'd look like a dork at Appalachicola, Bookelia or Goodland where the fish'ins good. Plus the guys in white boots would really make fun of you....! Boats need to look a little "salty" and remember the most basic Rule of Design is that "Form Follows Function". No over grown Flash Gordon Space Ship Carnival Rides for this cracker boy. |

GOFASTSANDMAN and WATTAWAYZ,
Please quit dragging us off topic. You guys are like a bad rip current. Pooh Bah or Snookered are going to be mad and we'll be in Agua Caliente', again. We' supposed to stay focused on the LONG POINT GATHERING.....! So .... If I was to show up at the Port Carla Marina in a 27 Seamaster with one of those throaty 320hp - 3208 Cats stuffed in it, twisting a surface wheel via a twin disc gear through one of those Australian Sea Fury drives - - - you'll know I hit the LOTTERY. (If I show up with the Dredge "Marshtackie" - - - you'll know I didn't!) |
Half my posts on CSC are squarely aimed for the ditch.
Traditionally, we start our Spring gathering threads in the Fall. This allows for a Winter of seething simmering of our Northern Brethren. As we post pics in the Spring, they are just about to launch for Summah. This is then followed by a Spring thread of our Fall gathering, and taunting of the folks on the Cape, with a small covert interruption for Mini Season. Cheers, Slacker Air |

Au contraire mon frere. Mademoiselle Marsha and I have secured site 70. It is my overriding concern not to place myself too close a proximity to 1) nuclear reactor, 2) a volcano or 3) the Port Carla Marina Tiki Hut. Sometimes a little space is a good thing. I mean they have the band going till 2:30 AM or so and then the garbage truck arrives at 4:30 AM to pick up two or three dumpsters full of empty bottles of Don V's rocket fuel. I'm old and cranky and believe me I need my beauty sleep. Broward County's Ranger Rick has assured me that there are no CSC members on either side of our site, just two locals, a Debbie Wasserman Shultz and a Col. Allen West - so things should be quite peaceful. As a "Be Prepared" Sea Scout, additionally I have contacted one "K-Moose" in Ocala, off line, and have scoured all available data, including that in that in the Offshore Hunter software program to determine the best available dive sites for our bivouac. We have located many "targets of opportunity" in this quest. Something's going to get "harpooned". In the mail today I received both the Army Corps of Engineers and the DEP Maintenance Dredging permits for the Long Pointe basin and surrounding estuary so pretty much everything is in order in my end for the dredge Marshtackie to begin work. Now since you lucky dogs live in Sunny South Florida and don't understand how the rest of us have to endure the long cold winters up here, you would not comprehend that tonight I have to put my snow shoes on, trudge out to the boat shed, take the bubble wrap off my compass and change the oil to 10 weight "winter oil" so it wouldn't freeze and crack the lens. But no matter what, I am committed to driving though the slush to enjoy the warmth of the sun in May at this CSC event. I just hope I cut enough cords of firewood to get through the winter this year - I don't want to loose any more toes or fingers....! |
