exactly. A hatch that opens to the left or right and would be somewhat triangular in shape. I just want access like the SeeVee's bow hatch.

Like this? Conch does this to their boats.

I like that one, but doesn't have a gutter. You don't really need a gutter for an anchor hatch though, and it takes away opening space

jnamowitz 03-08-2016 06:03 PM

exactly like that. There are not any available for sale anywhere on the internet that I could find. Just cheap plastic ones.

R&R is now making Conch. Call Matt and ask if you can buy one.

What size hatches are currently available. Are the new size you were expecting samples of earlier in the year ready?

Update?

martin 06-05-2016 11:34 PM

Hatches

Well from the looks of it...these are definitely different from the first one I bought. And had I realized that the bottom of the hatch was not gelcoated. I would have had you do it..the bottom of the hatch should have been gelcoated.. especially when the cost justified the finish...

Yes, they are definately different molds from the other hatches. No hinges or hardware or nonskid, easier to finish the way you want them. We debated on whether or not to gelcoat the back side, but I thought it would be better to leave them. I can send you gelcoat if you want, or give you a credit back to get some locally. I don't want anyone unhappy with the hatches.

This thread began 2 years ago. Just around the time the story of Hillary's email server scandal broke. Do you have the small ones done or not?!?!

Still don't see the small ones for sale...the flats boats style..

shine 07-13-2016 02:27 PM

here it is....

http://www.gulfstreamcomposites.com/...atch_small.htm

This one is a more simple hatch, no gasket. It has a recess for flush hinges and a finger pull recess for opening.

Another option for these hatches is adding more core thickness for insulation. We have sold a number of these with an extra 1.5" of foam core add to the hatch cover - ideal for ice holds and insulated fish boxes

These hatches are sweet man.
Here is the small rectangular one I molded into my Seacraft 23.
Fits inside the 20gal livewell perfectly!
What hinges do you spec these out for?
I think I ended up using Gemlux hinges.

shine 03-27-2017 08:23 AM

Wow, that turned out fantastic. They are not made for any specific hinge.

215robert 05-16-2017 03:12 PM

small rectangle hatch

Thank you! That must be the trapezoid one. We have a few of those on the shelf, so it will go out today or tomorrow.

Old'sCool 05-23-2017 11:50 AM

Can the trapezoid hatch be hinged on the side?

Yes, should not be any problem with that, they are the same core/thickness all around

I received some nice pictures of one of our fiberglass hatches being installed on a 23 seacraft. *This is our trapezoid hatch:
