The year after is up for grabs. Now I just gotta think of something that will top this year.

"Non boat".......huh??? What do these women do? Get together on the web and talk about our habits that include boats?? Jeeeez Conner......that's the same thing I hear!! My favorite comment is, "if it was one of your boats that needed repaired you would be all over it, however it's the toilet and you could care less"!!!! :)

How about an adventure below the waterline......

I didn't make it on this trip but my friends had some awesome dives a few weeks ago:

Yep, it is an amazing hull like nothing I have ever been on. Could probably do a Burmuda run on it.

Looks like a design for one purpose, getting divers way offshore in a hurry without having to worry about sea state.

What hull is that? It looks like an old 32 Cary that some one had rebuilt into a cool pilot house. It has the lines of a Cary or one of the latter copies of that hull.

Something like this 28 cary:

The hull is a custom built kevlar version of a 44 Tempest without the Euro transom and surface drives. The whole story of the build is amazing. I saw it as a shell with weeds growing out of it when my friend drug it home.
Here is a thread from Spearboard on the project: http://spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=169755

Some amazing numbers. fuel efficient, lightning fast, 25 degree deadrise, 9'6 " beam, 44 ft of needle. That is one heck of a combination. the hull designer must have known Carl. With all the tank weight down low, I bet it doesn't even roll all that bad. I'd like to hear more about what Mike did to balance the boat.

You could do a San Salvador trip in that one, easy.

Conner,
Topping an adventure like that is a tall order, especially considering the quality caliber of crews you assembled. But just for the halibut but I'll splash that Sea of Cortez idea and see if it floats...

Moose, that deepwater dive viddy is amazing. That Tempest 44 is a beast. Wow.

cdavisdb 08-18-2014 12:50 PM

I'm still chewing on a Sea of Cortez trip, not sure how to would do it. Maybe something like two years, leave the boat somewhere in southern California for the winter, one summer in the Sea, one going through places like Glen Canyon, pieces of the Mississippi, etc. Its one heck of a long way from here and I'd have to be completely retired, but, oh my, it looks tempting.

You are so right on crew, I was blessed. But, I know some west coast divers who are very good and might be tempted, and then there are some CSC guys around who would do great.

Good food for thought.

Cool, I see that Temptest make a lot of 32's as well. Their 32' hull looks just like the cary 32 with a euro transom on it. I wonder if there is any connection between them to hulls and if the 44 is a stretched 32? There may be no connection but they have a similar appearance. Don Aronow built the cary after a no compete clause once he sold donzi under another guys name. He was an famous designer, builder and racer of the famous Magnum Marine, Cigarette, Donzi, and Formula boats.
