Thanks- wish shop was mine. Was fortunate to find a place close to home for reasonable rent. Has 220 compressor and radiant floor heat which I would stongly recommend if putting up a building where it is cold.

Yeah have used one form or another for over 25 years for work so nice to use for “fun” things every once in a while. The bulk of this one came from Flexpat who modeled his sceptre. I added some of the mods for my project. Helps visualize some things before committing to materials. Plan to paint next week- running down hill after that..
Thanks for comment....

Used 1” x 3/4” pvc u- channel. For the individual runs and doubled up side by side on the main feeds coming from forward legs.

Little paint done and got the bracket installed today.

This boat is going to be real nice! Never been a fan of round washers for brackets..maybe you doubled them up? have had welders cut some 1/4 inch square washers in the past...Nice work and thanks for documenting here on CSC !

Thanks for comment. Hermco provided fender washers for the bolts. 1/16” thk on bracket side and 1/8” thk for transom side. From 1/4” thick min hatch cut out scraps from deck laminate I cut 2” diameter washers and used them plus thick fender washers on all bolts inside the transom except 2 that were tight clearance to battery shelves. Will take a pic next time at boat..

I assume you like the square just for more area?

Finally was able to get engine installed , 300 Suzuki duo-prop, and get in the water to see how the balance worked out. No numbers to report yet as in break- in period. Felt slightly stern heavy which is good as no gear, chairs, tackle or anchor gear forward. Think is will balance out pretty well when all loaded up. Still finish work to do in cabin, deck non- skid but looking forward to next season.

Would like to have cut it on cnc router but went with what I have at home. Just printed half at full scale, traced on teak, then cut close with a jig saw. Then came behind with belt sander/ sanding disc / sanding drums to clean it up.

Have a flush trim bit? Once you have a pattern like 1/4” mdf you can crank them out.

If not pm me.., I have.

Btw teak looks good. Using petit flagship?

I know what you mean but this was just a one-off on recycled scrap teak that was run through a planer to get rid of weathered bit. Pieces were only slightly larger that the part I wanted so had to split down the center and have the glue joint.

Used west system/ 207 hardener, couple coats, and a couple coats of clear awlgrip. Would do more coats if in the weather but emblem will be in cabin. Chairs were done same way but three coats of epoxy and 5-6 coats of clear.

Finally recorded some numbers on performance:
Average of 2 runs with/against current/wind
Suzuki DF300B (duo-prop):

RPM Speed GPH NM/Gal
(knots)
3000 16.0 6.6 2.5
3600 25.1 8.6 3.0
4000 28.4 11.0 2.5
4500 32.5 13.9 2.3
5500 41.0 24.2 1.7
5700 42.5 26.0 1.6

Probably had a little more RPM to squeeze out with trim but thats where I cut it off.
Just a little under what dealer reported during initial trial.

Motor seems to like the 3600/max efficiency speed - loafing.

Curious how this compares to other 300 HP numbers with single prop if anyone can provide those.
